Just been going back and watching through your videos man, only found this channel a couple months ago. Loving it so far, these old mines are cool, it's crazy how quickly nature reclaims things, I mean sure a few hundred years is long to us, but to nature? That's nothing, that's a season gone by. I've never been in an old mine, but I've been in several caves, nature doesn't seem to care how the caves come to be, artificial or man made, it'll fill them up just the same.

Glad you like them! Yep, depends on location too, desert mines will be preserved much better, but have no water or stone arching, so not so much fun :)

Those ladders are a great bit of kit. Spectacular mine , specially the horse whim. Seem to remember it from one of your previous videos? Having the guy in the shot really brought home the size of it. Excellent vid, thanks!

Yes he have done multiple videos in there before, but quality not as good. Noddle did a really good job on the ladders. Yes, I was told by a photographer once to put a person in shit if you need to give scale :)

I don't know how miners of old could see what they were doing by candle light. How did they manage to get ore and waste out of those squeeze holes when there is no space to swing a pick?
@UKAbandonedMineExplores2 жыл бұрын
You'd be amazed how your eyes adapt after 15 minutes, although their eyes did suffer from working in low light constantly. The squeezy bits have collapsed since it came into disuse.

White fungus deposits in Brynlow Mine. The spread of white fungus on the roof of this near-surface passage in Brynlow can be clearly seen. This sort of deposit seems to be more predominant in passages near entrances.
