You guys have the best guide in Nepal. Ram Magar is one of the best human being I have ever met. You are in good hands!

Ram is amazing. He came highly recommended. We have since finished EBC and have asked Ram to take us to Lower Mustang ( that's where we currently are ) 😁

Ahh, Pikey Peak. I was there in November 21. Drove from Kathmandu to Dhap, hiked to Sigane on the same day, then next day all the way up to Base Camp. Weather was similar to yours, no views and lots of fog. But luckily it got better on summit day and afterwards. The dog is soo lovely! Also, Junbesi is my favorite place in the whole Khumbu. When I retire, I swear want to live there lol. As I said earlier, I really like your way of travel & vlogging a lot. Authentic. Informative. Real. Keep it up! 🙂

awww thank you so much. we really loved Junbesi too. So glad you are enjoying the vlogs. The dogs really help to keep morale up on the long LONG days haha. The weather stayed pretty foggy until we reached Namche. It was so beautiful after that as you will see in the next videos :D

Respect, you guys! Trekking the proper way, by walking, not airplane, jeep or helicopter. My first trek to EBC in 1985 took 42 days and included crossing 5 high passes between 4800 and 6000m in altitude and a clandestine Mera summit at a time when there were no lodges of any kind between Mera and Lukla. When I hiked over Pikey Peak in 2018 the skies were clear and views amazing. From Jumbesi I continued to Dudh Kund lake and walked a shortcut straight to Ghat (Lukla) over the high ridges, something only 3 foreigners have ever done as far as I know. Got to sleep in a small cave as there was no flat place for a tent anywhere. Keep on trekking! By the way the biggest monastery in Nepal is just an hour and a half north of Jumbesi, Thuoten Choling, worth a visit when they again allow it.

Thank you so much. We wanted to walk up so that we could see more of the local way of life. We actually stayed with Ram's family which was a real highlight. The highest we climbed was Kalapathar at 5550m. All in all its been an incredible trip. We have now made our way to Lower Mustang to start another trek and see another side of Nepal 😁

@@LostKnox Walk the north side of the valley leading from Muktinath to Kagbeni, and visit the villages on the other side of Kali Gandaki from there. Avoid Jomsom, artificial town, you understand why when walking through. Check the video describing the true real Annapurna Circuit in the eighties: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ram7gaaFZb-osNE

@@LostKnox Of course you are (I have been there 4 times since 1984), but the journeys between the places are the best! Stay away from the roads, walk the paths less travelled.

Ram is asking when I,km planning a visit to nepal. Whoa slow down kind sir I need to speak to the family. As somebody will be going with me.
@LostKnox2 жыл бұрын
He is probably just asking for a rough idea. You don't have to book anything with him if you arnt ready.
@danielledewitt12 жыл бұрын
@@LostKnox Most likely, trouble is I don’t even have a rough idea yet. He is very helpful though. I explained I’ll try and get it worked out with the family then when/if we have it sorted I’ll contact him again. I mentioned I’d watched your trek, he knew who I meant right away.
