Brings back a lot of memories. Myself and my mate did the 8 over two days walking camping on Socach. We left the packs on the summit and climbed Ceathreamhnan then onto Dheiragain. Then directly dropping down and onto Socach for a magnificent sky camp. Then 5 on the way out. Good grief I was fit then this was my biggest outing but the Fischer Fields was the biggest single day. So pleased to watch you bringing it all back to me. The outing I did was July 96. Nearly there keep it up! Great footage.

Hi James, love it mate. Glen Affric is a special place for me as it was where I spent a week with my Dad a few years ago and we did our first two Munro’s. I always love watching people’s videos in the area. I have a canvas print of the old fisherman’s cottage by the loch on my wall at home. All the best mate Dave 😀⛰🥾⛰🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Well done James. Tried these three some years ago from Camban Bothy which is a 3 mile walk from the YH. We took one look across to MND and said forget it, and bagged the other two. MND eventually got done from Iron Lodge after an easy cycle in on the excellent track.

I did these last year , one night stay at the hostel , own sleeping bag but there was extra blankets if you need them plus a shower. Passing walkers could get a tea and coffee if they put money in the tin. Met a lady on the walk who had walked in from clunie, and met another lady who summited An Socach twice because she dumped her backpack and wanted to pick it up on the way down and missed it. That cycle in after strawberry cottage is a real bummer .I got scorching weather for these on a friday but by Sunday it was a white out, got to love the Scottish weather , great vid and well done you , cheers from Brechin

Great video James bringing back fantastic memories. Did those three in 1991 when I was a lot younger and fitter. The previous day 3 of us tackled Toll Creagach, Tom a'Choinich, Carn Eighe, Mam Sodhail and Beinn Fhionnlaidh then camped in Gleann a Choillich after a 10 hour day. The next day we did Mullach na Dheiragain, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan and An Socach before walking out along Glen Affric after 11 hours. In 2006 did the threee again Climbed An Socach from YH and camped high before doing Mullach na Dheiragain and Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan another long day. Bike certainly helped on second trip!!

Great to see you enjoying a great day out like that. I am sure that there is a much easier way to do these with a longer distance bike, but so much flatter and smoother that it is probably quicker. The ride is up to Iron Lodge from Killilan. This opens up a simple round of these 3 and includes the lovely noth ridge of Ceathreamhan. I have used it for a circuit of 6 round to Beinn Fhionlaidh. Definitely worth considering on your future visits to this area.
