After getting back down from the Grand Traverse very late on 6/15, we took a rest day, rented a canoe, and went off to climb the South Buttress, Right on Mt. Moran on 6/17/20. We were told by a park ranger that the route is a triathlon of climbing, canoeing and bug swatting. This certainly turned out to be the case but we probably would have added in bush whacking as well. The Tetons are mostly choss but this route was an exception. Awesome climbing with an incredible approach. Next time, we'll have to go to the summit.

Nice vid! We climbed it back in the 80s. Spent the night on a loose ledge at the top of the climb in a massive thunderstorm! sacred the bejeezus out of us but had the advantage of providing water in all the little rock basins and we had run out early in the day! Beautiful rock and scenery! Wish I could stay young and do those things again.

Honestly if I did a multi pitch like that I’m not sure if I would freak out or just think “well if I fall this high I won’t be any more dead than if I fell two pitches ago” and then feel fine about the hight. Also, just subed! Awesome videos!

Great video, but one of the plants you picked are Indian Paintbrush. They're Wyoming's state flower and illegal to pick. Keep crushing though.

Myself, I'd lay the pack down in the canoe before getting in rather than balance in the canoe with the heavy climbing pack on my back. GREAT video... very compelling. Teton granite is GO good..!!

why do you guys always have a rated "haul line" tied in to the back? When climbing with more than two people it makes sense but with two? Is it so you can have a rated tag line for full length rappel? if that's the case why not make use of it as half or twin ropes while climbing if you are already carrying it anyways?

We used a 8mm haul line on this route becasue the only other option we had between us was a beat up 5.5mm line. All the raps were double raps and I wouldn't rap on the 5.5mm line. Twin rope technique is unnecessary as the other line is rated as a single rope and half rope technique is unnecessary becasue the climb didn't wonder. Either would just create more drag.

Awesome scenery and a hard climb but please wear lifejackets when canoeing, sudden storms can appear out of nowhere and if you tip into that cold water you won't last long.
