All of this was made possible by the oil and gas industry! Thanks North Face for taking such a strong stand in support of oil and gas in the US!

“The most challenging thing for me is the crux pitch.” Yep. That is the most challenging part for most people hence the term crux 😉
@studmedmuc3 жыл бұрын
what if you easily climb the "crux pitch", what only describes the most difficult or most dangerous part of the route, but don't have the endurance for following pitches? what is the most challenging thing then? and what is your "term" for that?
@leonardofibonacci39013 жыл бұрын
@@studmedmuc I think for a route the term "redpoint crux" exists, for a multi pitch idk
@kiefmanning73943 жыл бұрын
It is all relative. I think on many hard routes there is a universal crux but many climbs will be. Dependent on size, strength, style or any number of other factors. I just thought him saying the crux was the hardest part was kinda funny. Like saying the final contestant will go last

excellent. I don't have much knowledge abt climbing so want to know who puts the clamps or hooks beforehand so that the climbers can put their rope in them to avoid fall?
@connorshanklin3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the route. Some climbers use hammers and drills on the way up to set the bolts. Othertimes, you hike to the top and bolt it "top down".
@debasishsen93973 жыл бұрын
@@connorshanklin Thanx. So basically the person who is fixing the bolt is the hero and the time they r doing that, they r actually conquering the rock or the hill. Later on making the video is just kind of presentation.
@johannessporer3 жыл бұрын
@@debasishsen9397 It depends...opening a new route is a different game. Usually multi pitch routes are opened "ground up" which means you start from the ground and as you go you place bolts. While doing this you use hooks and other gear to hold you on the wall. When you just climb a route in modern days usually you try to climb it "redpoint". This means you have to climb every pitch (a pitch is a part of about 20-40m of climbing between two anchors where you can then rest) free, so you can only use the rope and bolts as protection, but not to get you up. Most people who develop the routes do the first sccent in redpoint style afterwards, too.

Geographer here -- not providing the location of this climb is bad. Not everyone is a know-it-all. Most won't bother to look it up and just go with Spain or something. Whatever? Providing a country map and at least a general location is documentary standard. Naughty-naughty.

Well . I don’t see many locations of where the fuck is located yosemite valley in American climbing videos. The thing is if you are interested enough in these videos ... you’ll not be bothered for use google for about 20 seconds.
