Come and join me on my VLOG as I hike up the UK's tallest mountain, Ben Nevis, standing at a height of 1,345m. I'll be taking the main Ben Nevis tourist path route up, starting from the Glen Nevis Tourist Centre.
The route is 17km to the top and back down, and provides a decent challenge even in pleasant, summer conditions.

DISCLAIMER:
Climbing mountains can be dangerous, especially those with higher altitude such as Ben Nevis. Therefore caution should always be taken, and always try to be prepared, and assess the risk with appropriate clothing, footwear, equipment with the weather and route.
We decided to still head up despite the snow based on having done the route before, there not being any sudden drops or edges, there being fresh snow making it grippier, and decent amount of experience hiking. However, please only do what you feel comfortable with, and assess the risk for your own safety.
Stay safe and enjoy!:)

Pretty dicey going up in winter conditions without ice axe and crampons. Plus, bum-sliding in poor vis when you can't see the run-out? So few people take this mountain seriously enough, especially in winter.

July is probably the best month! I’d recommend doing it very early in the morning, maybe start around sunrise, or aim to get to the late evening if you want to avoid the crowds :)

Incredible Andrea, good luck! I just checked Met Office, looks like it’s going to be cold and snowy up there next few days. Hopefully it stays for you, unless you don’t want the snow of course!😁😅

Good video. Can you please let us know what did you carry with you? We are planning to go over the August Bank Holiday with family and friends. We have gone to Snowdon but still beginners really.

Hey, thanks for the comment Aryan! For that time of year I don’t think you’ll need too much, just food and water for the hike, and likely some waterproofs / spare layer incase there’s rain or it’s cold at the top. That should do really 😊

@@BenRobson123 OK cool, wish I'd gone around that time I'm assuming its a lot quieter then, hopefully it won't be jam packed in August or no snowing lol. Thanks for the reply man you just got a new Sub 👍

Yeah probably a lot quieter, especially since the forecast wasn’t great. However I think you can sometimes avoid the crowds if you do it either Reallllly early like start at sunrise or later in the afternoon on a weekday. Probably won’t be any snow that time but you never know! And thanks mate, really appreciate that. Let me know how it goes in August! I might be doing the 3 peaks in July 😁
