9:32. The building on the left side of the screen is Varso Tower. It was designed by Foster (he's the designer of the London Cucumber). This building is 310 m high and is the tallest building in the EU. You will be able to see the Palace of Culture and Science from above next year from the observation deck. In the Royal Łazienki Park, you can enjoy free concerts at the Chopin monument every summer Sunday. Łazienki Królewskie is the summer residence of the last Polish king, August Poniatowski. At the end of the royal route there is the Wilanów Palace (the only undamaged palace in Warsaw. It was the summer residence of King Jan III Sobieski. It was he who defeated the Turkish invasion near Vienna and protected Europe from Islamization.

For me an underrated city. I enjoyed Warsaw. I was naive. Didn’t expect it to be as good as it was. Love the old town area and uprising museum.

Slovenia is so underrated. Make sure you explore outside Ljubljana. A small country with a lots of things to do by road trip. Postojna cave with train ride inside, Piran's ocean view, Bled Lake, Bohinj Lake, Predjama Castle (world's largest cave castle) etc.

Pretty dicey going up in winter conditions without ice axe and crampons. Plus, bum-sliding in poor vis when you can't see the run-out? So few people take this mountain seriously enough, especially in winter.

Great video! As a Pole who lives in Newcastle for most of his life I really enjoyed the video from the polish region I come from. One thing only. Polish pastry ‘Rogal’ is not related to the French croissant in any way. Different type of pastry. Different way of bake. Why calling Rogal a croissant when they’re two different pastries but that’s just this, otherwise, I honestly loved the video 👍

This entire region (Wielkopolska - Greater Poland) is the cradle of Polishness. Opposite the entrance to the cathedral there is a low, glass, green wall. This is an outline of the court of Prince Mieszko I and the first church in Poland. There is a Golden Chapel in the cathedral itself. This is where the first rulers of Poland are buried: Mieszko I, Bolesław the Brave, Przemysł II. You visited the reconstruction of Przemysł II's castle. The permanent exhibition presents the history of functional design over the centuries. The old KS Warta stadium will turn into a park in the coming years. The citadel is a memorial park and cemetery. There are graves of: Greater Poland insurgents, soldiers from World War I and World War II. . All participants of the famous Great Escape are buried in the Allied soldiers' quarters. After they were caught, they were taken to the Citadel and killed there. Nierozpoznani(Unrecognized) is the largest outdoor work by Magdalena Abakanowicz, created on the occasion of the 750th anniversary of the city's founding under Magdeburg law. Poznań has wonderful recreational areas. There are seven lakes within the city area, the largest being Malta.

Hi Ben, thanks for another wonderful video featuring Poznan Poland. I've heard that city name before but it was interesting to see how it looks today. It was a perfect time for your visit right after the square was restored. Your tour of the abandoned Football Stadium raised by curiosity, so will try to search online to see if I can find any information about it. At about 10:10 into your video, on the field of the stadium, it looks like someone put up a Blue and White tent. Maybe a homeless person sleeps there out of the way. Your videos are always interesting and informative to watch. Thanks for all of the effort you put into creating these exploration videos.

Thanks Ben, I'm glad the effort, time and investment I put into the videos is appreciated. I did bump into a person in a sleeping bag near the main entrance actually, got a bit of a fright but just quietly walked away.

Finally, so you visited all cities that I consider for myself: Gdansk/Poznan/Wroclaw and Krakow - and the key question is: which one would YOU choose !?
@CutreadeArgeszr6 күн бұрын
Kraków to bliskie góry i kopalnia Wieliczka. Następnie jest Wrocław, Toruń (oryginalne gotyckie miasto- Unesco) i Poznań. Ostanie 3 miasta możesz zwiedzić w jeden dzień. Gdańsk i Kraków to 2 lub 3 dni.
@BenRobson1236 күн бұрын
Now that is a very difficult question! I think my 3 favourites are Krakow, Gdanks and Wroclaw. I love them all for different reasons, Krakow may edge it just for its proximity to Wieliczka Salt Mine & Auschwitz. Though the amount and type of British tourists unfortunately taints it for me ☹️
