I'm also a rec climber and for every foot/meter that I go down a get sad knowing I'm leaving all that hard work behind, so I tend to stay a bit longer and enjoy the heights. Also, how darn expensive it's all the gear WOW! thanks for your video and stay safe.

Hello, thanks for your words. Yes, sometimes its really hard to go down. And many out there do not know how hard it is sometimes for us rec climbers to get up there. But every time all the hard work was worth it, just to be in peace and calm up there, enjoying this other world. All the best to you and climb safe. :)

how ya get the road in the tree to start??
@boschcraft61692 жыл бұрын
Hi. This is the 2nd climb you see in the video. In all my other videos I film from beginning. First I use a throwing bag with a strong thin throwing line, then once I get to the first anchor point I work my way up branch by branch. Please check out my other videos, where you can see the technic. All the best to you. Where do you do your tree climbing? I started in spring this year, and I've climbed a few big trees (usually beech). I've been up to 90 feet high so far. You use similar gear to me. I'm in Durham, Northeast UK

Hello Stuart I'm climbing in Switzerland in the Region of Zurich. Till now I only climbed beech trees, I don't know, for me they feel so strong and safe with a nice smooth bark:). In the last two videos I used the Hitch Climber, I love this tool, its nice to climb up and down on a hitch. All the best to you and climb safe:) Greetings from Switzerland. Simon

Hello Stuart, I've recently got into tree climbing myself as I do hunting with slingshots so it is incredible to outflank wild game in this way. The reason I comment is because im situated in county Durham myself so it is class to see a comment with someone from the same area. Climb safe bro 😁

What kind of friction hitch did you use?
@boschcraft6169 Жыл бұрын
Hello Franziskus. On this climb I used a Petzl RIG, no Hitch. On the Lanyard there is a Hitch but I don't know what it calls. Climb save an all the best to you.

Be careful on what branches and anchor point you chose, you don’t want to chose a bad branch Union.

why don't you DRT down? then you can skip the retrieval line or even base anchor SRT?
@boschcraft61692 жыл бұрын
Hello, my rope is too short for DRT and base anchor 35m, but I will check out, anyway without retrieval line is always better :).
