I’m interested . How do I get your info ? I just got my first clinch pic
@scotopicvision10 ай бұрын
The clinch pick also needs a longer handle. In my testing (which you can see one of them on my channel), I find the short handle and long blade causes the longer blade to leverage out of a cut. Therefore making shallow cuts compared to other self defense knives. This was repeatable in various mediums. Have you thought of making longer scales to deal with this issue? I would definitely be interested in this, because I think it’s a great concept, just needs tweaking

GREAT VIDEO👏👏👏👏.As always many folks many opinions.... IMPO... if you use Ver 1.o and understand the importance of palm support shape you will not grind the scales flat . I can see additional texture to be added on Ver 1.o and gain some benefits. VER 2.O & 3.O do benefit on the grip but losses the functionality of the attend use (support when thrusting/piercing, side handling, etc) Ver 4.o is great modification and makes sense to use thinner cutting bevel. Personally I would use all of them but Ver 1.o IMPO has been serving me well over last 2 1/2 years.

Thanks for the detailed comparison. Haven't seen anyone using these in Pikal orientation yet (point down). Seems like they'd function quite well for FMA. 🗡️👍🗡️

All well and good.....HOWEVER.... for those of us who simply want a "backup to our backup" in the way of a knife and who are not using someone else's money (ie. law enforcement, military etc.) to buy these little gems with a basic price of $95 to $120 dollars for much less actual material and workmanship than your average Buck belt knife -THEN addiing another $40 to $50 dollars to make it "combat effective" in your opinion just makes it clear to me that I'll be going another direction completely. This is essentially a "gimmick" knife sold on the name of the designer's resume that for me has some serious potential risks of harming the user just based on its blade configuration that get overlooked. I can get a serrated law enforcement model of the Ka Bar TDI for less than $50 total that will serve most purposes just fine.

I came to the same conclusion before seeing this comment lol TDI all the way
@juxtaposition7904 Жыл бұрын
I like the TDI knives too. The sheaths are absolute 💩 but the blades themselves are good. There’s some very well made after market sheaths that aren’t going to bust your wallet as well so I agree it’s a much more budget friendly option. The same problem with Tkell knives. Beautiful weapons but out of my price range so it’s TDI Pocket Point instead. I will say this about the clinch pick . They’re extremely concealable and not a gimmick as you state in really confined spaces like behind the wheel in a car. But I get your point (no pun intended). Usually they’d be less effective than any TDI knife.
@bigdonut-pt5gx6 ай бұрын
My problem with the clinch pick is that it's a one trick pony. So Just assume for a second that an attacker doesn't immediately try to get on top of you instead they use range to their advantage and just stab and cut you not giving you the chance to grab them. You'd be done if all you have was this knife.

I would love to know how you cut and texture the grips, if you are willing to share. If you aren't, you think going at one wit ha dremel and some patience would work, or does the material of the handle not do well?

You can definitely do it with a dremel, when I first started I used one. It works, but I definitely get nicer and more effective results with my grinder.

in ur opinion is the Ban Tang version worth the HUGE price diff for the better blade steel?
@zulubravokydex29953 жыл бұрын
It’s not just better steel, Ban’s grinds are going to make for a *much* better cutting tool. The China Picks are a great value, but Ban’s work is EXCELLENT. “Worth it” is always hard to determine for someone else. The China picks are a very functional piece, but they are better, IMO, with a few mods. Ban makes objectively better knives, but the skill and experience to make those better pieces comes with a price tag.

I love the shape of the knife, wish there was a more practical version with the sharpened edge on the other side
@RabbiSteve2 жыл бұрын
That’s an interesting perspective. That’s what I first thought when I first learned about this knife. But I thought that the reason that the sharpening is on the flat side, had to do with the close quarters application upon drawing the blade. Tell me more about why that is incorrect.

@RabbiSteve2 жыл бұрын
@@LiveforHM I think you’re right. And that’s why I want one. Because I can’t have other knives I really want (like for example, a longer auto knife, or double-sided blade. Nor for practical use or EDC, but just because a) I collect knives and b) because we should be able to have and carry anything. 2A covers *ALL* arms - not just firearms), and this knife is both practical, a nice work of blade craft and legal here in Commiefornia.
