Thank you, for a very awesome video. When I was young streamliners would go under Main St. in High Point, NC and once and a while stop at the station to pick up the mail and passengers. I was about 6 or 7 yrs old and would get the thrill watching those big engines and super loud horns blasting as they would leave the station. Not many F or S series left, enjoyed this video, thank you again young man for posting.

Clinchfield F3A #800 truly tackles the Tennessee Central. It has a long history. Its still an F3A to me. Wow. That M5 is musical.

However I like the K5LA on the Clinchfield #800. Sounds good. I don't hate the M5. It's just I like the K5LA more.

Talk about a throwback with the 800. When added to the restored Passenger cars all it was missing was a 1950 Auto at the Grade Crossing. Once again this trip was blessed with excellent weather and the Drone certainly brought out the natural beauty of the forest but also the bridges. I still have a hard time believing a Big Timber structure like that is still an operation in 2023. Hopefully the employees and their families get to do this for many more years. A fine presentation

It's definitely a throwback! The weather turned put great for this run, the bridges add alot to the scenery! Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed!

Love the video, especially, the route between the Franklin plant; the Piney Creek trestle, & right on up to the Mt Roosevelt tunnel (wish they'd have gone through it !)

@blueridgerails Am a life-long train enthusiast...(wish they would bring back the passenger trains: the airlines are one thing, but they are not like what the trains were). Am very curious about something...the LHoist train covers the route from the Franklin plant, ahead to the Westel trestle and onward through the Mt Roosevelt tunnel; did this line proceed further eastward, parallel with I-40 and U.S. 70W ? A high-standing RR steel trestle (same type as the one at Westel) stood alongside the eastbound lane of Interstate 40 above Rockwood; the top part of which could first be seen at a distance prior to a leftward curve of the roadway... (as you approached and were continuing eastward, you got a better view of the trestle). This particular trestle appeared to be at least 100ft in height above ground, and has been dismantled a few years ago. Coal hoppers (with Southern RR markings) were sometimes seen parked atop on occasions: am thinking these were used to supply coal to the nearby Kingston steam plant, as it was in that direction, further east. Thanks; very interested !!

Awesome video! Had a last saw it on the CSX Santa Train in 2017. Any chance SARM might do public trips on this railroad? I last heard they were doing employee trips for the railroad.

My question is why do they decide to pull passengers on that line?

It's a gift to all the employees of the mine.

Nice presentation. It's great that this is done for their employees. Not to nit pick but the crew should have placed white flags on the locomotive denoting an extra move. Green flags denote a second section.😎🚂🚃🚃🚃✝

We put the white flags on 5206 which was following behind the excursion.
