@03:24 I stopped watching. Don't fast forward the film to speed up the cars going by, dang that sucks. Some of us want to see the whole train and count the cars. 👎👎

I love the Murphy Branch. My grandfather hauled woodchips to the mill. The shutdown of the Canton Paper Mill has hurt everyone. I talked to a former mill employee, and he lost his whole career. Many generations of his family built their careers and lives on the mill. I look around Western North Carolina today and see that all the industry is gone, everything the early settlers worked for, gone. Once prosperous towns, crippling. Plant workers, truck drivers, railroad men, lumberjacks, wood chip mill workers, maintenance workers, and many others are suffering. Without the paper mill, they can't sustain themselves or their families. Them and their families will have to leave the mountains to find new jobs. Canton is crippling, thousands of hard working men and women lost their career, and jobs, small businesses are dying, families are leaving, the economy is terrible, blue ridge southern is in devastated, and the ripple effect from the shutdown is hurting people and the economy beyond Western North Carolina. All because of false claims that environmentalists made to get the mill shut down. They claimed it was polluting the water and air with smoke and chemicals. As someone living in Western North Carolina, I tell you that's not true. The "Smoke" that was supposedly polluting the air was actually steam. The steam didn't contain chemicals. The only exception is steam with blue tint. I never saw the mill doing that. I went to Canton, and the air was clean, and the water was fresh, even downstream of the mill. The environmentalists lied and plotted and schemed and got the mill shut down. Then, they said, "This shutdown is a new beginning. Our river will bring tourists and save Canton. " All the river did hurt the town even more. It swept through taking part of the town with it. Canton is truly an abandoned ghost town. The only way to fix it is to reopen the paper mill. R.I.P. Canton NC 1889-2023 Killed by Environmentalists.😢

First off... great vids!! I just stumbled upon your channel today and like your work. "The driver backed up and then decided to go to sleep" I just retired a week ago after 34 years of Over The Road driving and I just have to say NONE OF THIS SURPRISES ME!!! As a motorist on the American highways, you should be VERY AFRAID anytime you are near an American truck driver. The level of professionalism, skill, ability and more importantly COMMON SENSE is GONE in the industry. I have spent the last 10+ years not sleeping soundly because I have to be constantly aware and worried about one of these idiots backing into me at a truckstop, taking out the front of my truck and then fleeing like a thief in the night. I spend every waking hour discouraging anyone that mentions the industry from becoming a driver. The truly sad part is... THIS MORON will continue to drive and continue to make poor decisions.

A shame their contractors are botching the job so horribly. Sat and watched them hauling off a buddies property today here in Unaka Springs. Their haste is going to cost the taxpayers hundreds of millions, while simultaneously building an unsafe railbed for the engineers who have to run that line. Federal lawsuits, fines and more on the way.
