Oh boy! I once had a friend like that and I broke free!! and after that never again BUT I had a couple of clingy roommates and is exhausting always trying to escape or be out of their sight and of course what a pain!! but now I see better the pattern so can ID these maladaptive people. My headphones have been my best refuge and savior because when going to common areas in the house I would have them on so NO NO NO I am busy cannot give you my time and when still trying to interrupt me I was like " what is the emergency? is this a 911 issue? still they will fight it to the nail for attention but if you do not relent I guess they get a little tired ....just a little because they will go back to the attack to be clingy... they are DAMAGE GOODS.

OMG this is so true. The way you explain this is to funny but not funny when you are trapped in this situation. I had a distant family member that tried to get close to me really fast after my mother past. I told her I don't talk on the phone often. Her reply was" I don't know about that". For the first 3 months they would call every day talking for hours. During this time, I was under so much pressure dealing with legal issues. They wanted to know every detail. Finally, after 7 months I had enough. I was polite I said I want a relationship with you but feel pressured. She stopped calling but sent text to see if I would call. Initially I had plan on reaching out every week, but I realized how much better I felt without them in my life. She tried to take advantage of me during one of the hardest times in my life. She was controlling, negative, and in competition with me. After this situation I realized I was the problem because I didn't enforce my boundaries.

This is sooooo accurate. I thought I was the only one who’s dealing with someone like this . Have unanswered 6 negative texts in a row because I’m seriously trying to break contact and end this friendship but he still keeps texting . This is what I said in one of your videos. Forget about that song from the late 60‘s, early 1970‘s People, people that need people, are the luckiest people in the world“. I say, NO! They’re not. I can’t stand needy people because they trap you in quicksand and always end up abuse you. They abuse the privilege by coming back and want more of you. I don’t mind helping a genuine friend out when I know they’re sincere. When it becomes a habit and start treating you as their errand boy then there’s a problem!

Thank you! Currently going through this with a coworker. My personal rule is to not make friends with coworkers but she’s been finding ways to get “in my web” as you say. The longer it’s been, the more I realize how dangerous she is a people pleaser. I don’t trust people pleasers bc they are not genuine and will throw you under the bus when they get recognition. I do keep her close bc she is the most knowledgeable on the team but I work really hard to keep her at arm’s length. She always plays victim, is paranoid/negative, ignorant/naive but with coworkers, she is overly nice. It’s somewhat genuine but it’s driven from insecurity and the need to be admired. She love bombs and brings me unnecessary gifts and I think it is to keep me around. I told her “no” and she passive said, “well it seems like you’re doing fine without these.” My response: “yes, I am fine without these but thank you.” Like she’s trying to control me or to get me to like the same things she does. I also notice she copies me a lot. She tries to say big words but ends up saying made up words that sound smart

I am thinking of apologizing to her but when I see her in person which may not be for a good while bc I believe she is too busy on her grind for us to meet up to play soccer with our group of mutual "friends". It has been increasingly difficult to communicate within the last 3 years. Almost like a language barrier but we speak the same. It’s strange and very isolating because many do not realize different depths of meaning. The ones who feel this way, do not let your spirit be damaged as this it’s self, is a miscommunication. The ones we speak to who do not understand the depth of meaning are surface level thinkers, mouth breathers as 11 would call them. But we know how we feel, and it is NOT your responsibility to make them understand something God has not called them to understand. In knowing this, you should feel empowered, that you have understood something unique, that not everyone understands. You have a gift. Not every can be as ‘in tune’ as you feel and cannot describe to others. When the other person has shown their level of mind/spirit and it just does not link up, DONT WORRY! This is good because you can now relax and release yourself from the energy it takes of trying to help them understand. Then just let them ramble, let yourself an opportunity to observe a new person in front of you and disconnect the energy. Don’t let them plug into after that unless they have shown signs to you that both of you are on the same… wavelength. No stress 🙏🏼 It just be what it be sometimes ⭐️

I won't burden you with what is gonna happen when you join the ugly as each day passes. It's really no big deal, you just lose vapid value every single day as each day passes as you realize yesterday was the best you. But it's never yesterday. It's always only now. They are so nicey nice to other people to trick and then force them into their dellusion narative and then they use the common folks to put them in a horde mass mentality for condemning the ones who are high in competence, accountability and compassion, why?
