Just FYI - Needs Faecal Blood Test, also needs to rule out rectal bleeding, and haematuria, also need to 100% clarify if the bleeding per vaginum was definitely menses or any IMB - I assume we are all meant to assume this was all done in the first consultation. Question about vegetarianism after being told about the bacon sandwiches was embarrassing, and fails to demonstrate active listening. Also didn't discuss how to take the iron tablets (alternate days might be good).

Cooking bacon butties is not equal to eating them. She may well have been just cooking them for her family and not herself, as she just said "On a weekend, we always have a good breakfast, always cook bacon butties". It was a reasonable question to check. Good point about the iron tablets tho!

Seriously though, the diet counselling would have been a lot more professional and measurable if she was just reffered to a dietitian in the first place. She didn't even set specific goals hen it came to what foods to include. Also "what diet do you have" is not a way of assessing the diet... jesus christ.

@@adamdaly79 Not all health systems are set up to have dietitians to refer to. In my country, referral to a dietition is appropriate for a patient in the hospital setting. It isn't used much in the community setting, however. It seems this doctor in the video is in a general practice setting.

The patient was very responsive and it makes for a nice interview. But I often try to engage patients like this with minimal response from the other side. That makes the interview much more difficult.

Can someone to write their conservation or to add subtitle to this video?
@dearhallmark24 жыл бұрын
You can press the button named CC on the left lower hand corner of the video menu, when you move the mouse over the video screen. Then KZbin itself will prepare the subtitles using voice recognition. It is not perfectly accurate, but it is accurate enough to help.

Very nice interview ! We do the same thing in our daily practice when we try to give the medical informations to the patients using the most easy way to explain and make sure the patients got and understood what we said . Well for me it will be difficult to keep the same pace of speech as in this interview cuz english is not my mother language and that what make me worry when I will do the PACES exam in the future ...God help me

I agree as well. It was like the doctor took charge of everything. Should involve the patient more in decision making and what she wants from this consultant iob
