Great video! It is helping PhD students around the world get to terms with the pandemic. Keep them coming!

I loved this video! I'm in my first year of undergraduate study, but I'd like to go for a PhD someday so this gave me a really nice idea of what it would be like. Really liked this vlog

Loved it! Your day is so organized and productive... I need to make a vlog as I’m now inspired by you to make one. X

I dont know if someone else has this "problem". But sometimes a PhD student spends all day with the illusion of working but in the end he/she will only actually work about 2 hours maximum.

Hi Fleur, from the little cues in your vid I figured out you live Netherlands! Do you happen to know any Americans/Canadian's in your PhD or had known any in your Masters program? I'm in my undergrad in Canada and Nederlands is my second choice after staying here. I learned I might have to take some pre-masters courses there to catch up, other than this do you have any insights? Thanks!

Hi Efe! Thank you so much for your message. I am indeed from the Netherlands. :) I have known a few people from USA in my Master's program, but not in my current PhD program. Are you interested in doing a Clinical Psychology Master in the Netherlands, or going after a Master's degree in another field? If you have any specific questions, please let me know. I am happy to help!

@@FleurGLHelmink Hi Fleur. In Canada to be a psychologist you need a PhD so that's the plan and I'm interested more in Counseling Psych. I believe a PhD is not necessary in Holland? What would be the difference in opportunities between a PhD & a masters grad student of psych in Holland in the field (other than academia opportunities) Thanks!

@@efey1998 Hi Efe! That's correct, you don't need a PhD to become a psychologist in the Netherlands. However, after your Master's (or PhD) you have to do a post-Master education called "GZ-opleiding" in which you work and learn for two years to become a psychologist. Places for this GZ-opleiding are highly competitive and it can take several years between your Master's and the start of the GZ-opleiding. I don't think there is a big difference between having done a Master's alone or a Master's + PhD when it comes to acceptance rates for the GZ-opleiding. What makes a real difference is how much experience you have in the clinical field as a "basispsycholoog" (basic psychologist). The more experience you have, the better your chances are to be accepted. I'm not sure how much a (clinical oriented) PhD counts towards this clinical experience. Please let me know if you have any other questions. You can also send me an email at: fglhelmink at gmail dot com. :) Best of luck!

in the beginning, you said psychiatry, did you mean psychology? the terns are not interchangeable. If you didnt go to medical school, you aren't a psychiatrist!

I am interested as well, the description also says psychology/psychiatry which is weird
