Magda - I cannot count the number of times I wanted to reach out and give you a hug! To feel stressed and overwhelmed is perfectly natural and normal, especially when we’re facing large and turbulent changes, all at once! So you never need to apologise or feel silly for feeling what you feel :) I for one think you’re very resourceful, very emotionally attuned and from watching you vlogs for some time, believe you to be much more intelligent than you give yourself credit for :) behind you all the way, you can do this and always feel free to reach out if you need help! It’s never a sign of weakness - it’s a sign of strength and can be one of the hardest things we ever do :) x

The IT crowd reference was funny! The fact you are concerned about doing the right thing by patients and have empathy is good sign not a negative.

Omg I’m 4th yr med too and I relate to literally every concern you had, so nice to know I’m not the only one lol- hope you’ve settled into clin years now and are slightly less terrified now!!

You will be fine, Magda. It really does get better. I see myself so much in all your concerns about not being cut out for Medicine. I'm not a doctor yet, I'm still in my final year, and the panic never really goes completely away, but you learn to deal with it and keep going and thriving. And your perceived faults are actually also going to serve you well so many times! You're definitely going to be a good doctor, you clearly have a lot of emotional intelligence - even if you feel socially awkward - and empathy, and you care a lot, which are amazing qualities! I hope you keep enjoying your clinical years, and good luck! 💜

aww i always love your long videos. I feel you on so many levels, literally having breakdowns every single day at this point. I think you said in a video once that you are a cancer, and i‘m a pisces so i guess we are connected by our water signs (love that for us). Sending you a big hug, i hope things are going to be better soon. 🤍

If you can show that physical disease can generate the same kind of psychological trauma and extend the diagnostic criteria of ‘traditional’ ptsd for example then that would be an important achievement!

I'd much prefer a doctor like magda who i can see has such strong emotional intelligence and knows how to live through emotional fluctuations than someone who suppresses emotion or doesn't have any lived emotional experiences
