@mahamod hassan You’re kidding, right….?! I never said the movie was 100% on drugs or addiction, what I said was it’s a very true tale about addiction, which it is! It shows the beginning stages (the party stages, and how much fun it is) and gradually shows the slippery slope where they have to find their fix before they can even remotely function. The movie and book, absolutely show the true side of addiction. The movie shows what greed/desire can unfortunately do to you, and used drugs/addiction to portray it to the audience.

I only watched the movie at the cinema, once. The volume was so loud, I felt sick. It was a complete perfect experience. I do not want to taint that memory, so that one time will be the only time I watch it. At the start there was some young men behind me, bit loud, looked upper middle class. Snickering at the main characters use of drugs at the start. When the movie ended, not a single word was said. Snickering was long gone. Nobody actually said a word until we were outside. I felt like shit. By the looks on everyone else, so did they. Perfect.

A powerful soundtrack... the ominous music is permeated ever, by an inexorable pulse of tragedy and doom, from the low passages to the more intense sections and viceversa! A true masterpiece of film music!

I knew the first time a watched this movie, first found about the music and found out it was for a movie, I went to camp, my parents bought and watched it first, also to decide if I also could watch it (I was 14, this was in 2005) when I came back they told me about the present they got me, the movie requiem for a dream, excited to watch it, but it was heavy for my heart, I still have the copy they bought for me, and it is still heavy for me to watch, a great movie.

It's difficult to put into words how this song makes me feel,. its like a self empowerment from within that makes the hairs on my arms stand up and for once I don't concentrate on all the things that have gone wrong in my life. All of a sudden my mind is racing through thoughts and memories of all my greatest accomplishments as they play out before me like a montage in a movie about my life. It makes me feel strong while at the same time almost bringing a tear to the eye. This is a beautiful piece of music.

O God, I can't watch this movie anymore. The music haunted me since. I watched this in 10th grade and now I'm 35 and struggling w addiction. I thought I'd pull up the music but the movie screen shots are on as well and I m losing it. What a masterful sad piece that expresses everything I feel now and everything I felt. I could expect back then. Gdhlpme
