I was blessed to see William Shatner in his one man show when it played in Las Vegas in 2014. In the show, he did talk about his resentment with Capt. Kirk. He then explained that after years of slowly letting go of that resentment, he had an final epiphany when he interviewed Patrick Stewart for a documentary on Star Trek Captains. He asked Patrick if he had a slight resentment about that fact that despite his years on the stage, his Shakespearean background, etc etc, he would always be remembered as Capt. Picard. Patrick replied no, and said, in effect, the same thing Shatner told Jason (that he created something that will outlive him and brought joy to millions.) Shatner said that helped him finally let go of any conflict he had with Star Trek.

Thanks Jason. Your story about the marine was especially poignant to me as I am a retired Navy veteran and a fan of Seinfeld. It was uncanny how you captured the tone and cadence of the marine sergeant. That’s exactly how most marines speak when they addressing someone senior to them in rank or position. And to my marine corps brethren…Semper Fidelis!

I used to publish a weekly newsletter with news, articles, jokes quotes, etc. Once a year, I'd publish a joke issue. The issue was emailed to a mailing list. I was considering discontinuing it, until someone whose mother had just passed away that she had been in bad spirits one day until she read my issue and it made her laugh. That's what make it worthwhile!

Not one of the verses you have given, is what I asked for. Where did JESUS SAY/command worship him? (As you are claiming.) Jesus's own words is what we want. Not what Paul remembered Matthew saying. Or a third person account of an event. Or what Greek interpreters of the Hebrew texts thought something ought to have meant. Or what was implied etc. A quote in the first person please. An example would be John 5:30. 'I can of mine own self do nothing....' etc This is Jesus 'speaking'. Your turn.

I disagree with you. Firstly, no one is claiming that Seinfeld is an answer to life's problems. Merely providing laughter for a short while. Secondly, using laughter to improve your feeling, is perhaps better than using alcohol, drugs or worse. Thirdly, if you cared anything about Jesus, you would LIVE BY what he ACTUALLY preached. Not build a religion around worshipping Jesus himself. And so you probably wouldn't find yourself murdering foreigners in Iraq in the first place.

Well I don't get the gestapo thing, so forget that. War: Not talking about you personally. You mentioned needing Jesus to help you recover, if you ever went to war. I'm saying no true follower of Jesus would ever engage in the wars we do in modern times, e.g about money/oil. Jesus's biggest commandment was to worship him? Really? Got a biblical reference for that?
