Thanks! I am new to PS, but use Luminar 4 and Topaz Mask AI so I'm somewhat familiar with the terminology. But I wish you would have placed one of the subjects in a new background so I could see how that works.

Thanks for the video! I have good luck using the lasso tool to add or subtract "tiny AI selection errors" such as the feet on the second and third examples - I am able to be far more accurate using my mousepad rather than my tablet pen - of course everyone has their preferences.

Try increasing exposure to lighten the image so the separation between the boot and ground is more pronounced, mask, then reduce exposure back to original.

Another great video. How about inverse selecting, then giving the background gaussian blur, rather than putting on another layer.

Nice tutorial Anthony. Your problems with "feet" in examples two and three would be greatly reduced by waiting to make those corrections until you are in the "Select and Mask" mode. As illustrated in your video, when attempting to make a better selection in the "Select Subject" mode the brush either constantly adds or subtracts more area than desired. Yet in the "Select and Mask" mode this will not be the case.

Refine edge does not work for me at all.. It adds and removes at the same time. Makes me crazy.......

It seems most of the developmental effort has been put into selecting people. I rarely need to select a human. Birds, flowers, you name it, but rarely a human. Has anything new been added in the new photoshop release concerning selecting ordinary objects?

The principals in refining are the same regardless of the "subject" selected. Photoshop's improvement in this area has mainly been focused on "hair refinement", but certainly not limited to it. By the way, that would apply to any subject having hair, fur, etc.
