Alan or Reacher? Has he said things in interviews or social media or from the parts he plays…. Because if you’re talking about this character he also had a relationship with a cop in season 1…. Is still friends with the detective from S1 too and became on respectful good terms with the detective from this season…. I don’t know about his personal life and even if he did it doesn’t change his portrayal. Also yeah I agree with you, I despise corrupt police, they make the public hate the decent ones and if “decent” cops turn a blind eye to the corrupt then they aren’t good guys either even if they don’t do anything to anyone they deal with on duty.

Hard to beat Season 1: probably the best series I've seen in 10 years. You got to meet Reacher, you got his backstory, you got him taking down the bad guys, he had a love interest and the people he worked with were fantastic actors. He was also an unknown quantity for us and for that first small town he dropped in on. Fantastic stuff. "Or, you can take his head out in a bucket..." lol never forget that scene.

In the book, Marsh is actually worse than he is in the show. His name is Curtis Mauney as opposed to Drew Marsh and he used to be Allen Lamaison's partner in the LAPD (Allen Lamaison is Shane Langston in the book). Mauney takes Thomas Brant, that's Gaitano Russo's name in the book, off of the case after Reacher and O'Donnell assault Brant and Brant detains them in retaliation. Once Brant involved Reacher and Co. In his investigation into Franz's death Mauney takes over Brant's investigation to ensure that Reacher, Neagley, Dixon, and O'Donnell die the same way Franz, Orozco, Sanchez, and Swan died. Mauney helped Lamaison capture and kill Swan, Franz, Orozco, and Sanchez by using his credentials in the LAPD to arrest them. Then he does likewise to Dixon and O'Donnell, but failed to do so with Reacher and Neagley because they were stuck in traffic when Dixon and O'Donnell were detained. Reacher kills Mauney in a similar way to Marsh in the show, he just does it while he and Neagley go to rescue Dixon and O'Donnell.

There’s something about a character who only takes what he needs. In the first episode of the first series I could it tell it was going to be good when he strolled into the town with just the shirt on his back. Just the little thing of him grabbing a wad of cash not for himself but to square away a debt to someone. In this context that little scene adds so much of… something. I don’t know what but it just feels good.

​@@am5p8In this case, "battery" is more like the artillery term. A firearm (or artillery piece) is "in battery" when the bullet/shell is fully chambered, the chamber is sealed, and it's safe to fire. There are many ways a weapon can be left "out of battery" where the chamber is not sealed completely, which leaves a piece of the shell casing unsupported, and if fired risks that part of the casing exploding out the side of the weapon instead of directing the explosion behind the bullet/shell where it belongs. Modern weapons have safeties that won't let the firing pin/striker go forward into the primer on the shell casing if not fully in battery.
