This scene must’ve been inspired by the 1997 North Hollywood shootout, except that the two robbers in the real life shootout didn’t have accomplices who could hold hostages in the bank. The 1997 shootout was also inspired by the 1995 heist movie Heat.

this scene made SWAT look like morons. no way those guys would light up the street with automatic gunfire like that and SWAT and the sniper teams would just stand there with their thumbs up their asses and not take these guys down. they would never take the chance of the robbers to potentially kill civilians or cops.

They are wearing custom armour like the perpetrators of the North Hollywood shootout, they lit the streets up. They added two more perpetrators with hostages as since these guys aren't moving and there are snipers present, they make it so they have to weigh up the situation as if they immediately take out the two outside with headshots then chances are the hostages will be executed , they are trying to buy time for the infiltration team , but when the went for the car they had to shoot

Yep, this was very similar to the North Hollywood shootout of 1997, except that in the real shootout, there were only two bank robbers & no one inside the bank got injured, while in this movie, there were two robbers outside & two more robbers with hostages in the bank.

The sniper would have been clear to shoot at the guys on the street, cause they were shooting at people. The unarmored Huey would have not dropped folks off on the building, while Mr AK was shooting. Don't let them get mobile, but let ak guys mag dump on a street. The two guys would announce their intent. This is a bank robbery that went to active multiple shooters. I thought this movie was cool, years ago .

Because it's based on the guys with custom armour who magdumped Hollywood for a few hours before they got killed (shooting at the news helicopter is a direct reference too), these guys weren't mobile so they added two more guys with hostages so you would have to weigh up taking a shot since that would probably mean hostage execution. Of course it's not completely plausible , although the helicopter comes from the back while they are being suppressed at the front im.sure they'd hear it, but it's not like there wasn't a massive shootout in Hollywood in 1997 that went on much longer than this, with two perps without hostages

Yeah, I noticed that, and the guns had the ammo drums on them, so yep. The only difference was there were more of them in the bank in this scene, I'm pretty sure they couldn't have outdone the actual Hollywood shootout. But that one officer, standing up and walking toward the guy with a handgun, more movie crap. As for shooting through a person to hit the bad guy, oooh, that guy is in big trouble, in real life I mean.

A shot to the shoulder is no small matter. At 3000 fps, it is a very destructive weapon. You have brachial nerves, arteries, not to mention the hydrostatic forces will leave a destruction path and tissue/nerve/bone-loss the size of an orange inside and on the exit wound. It will be a lifelong debilitation to a significant to severe degree. But joyful to say that within this movie's universe, she will bandage and have a scar the size of a dime on both sides.. healing within a month and doing hatha yoga and full range weights 3 times a week..

Some of the characters in this movie have weird names. Street? Gamble? Deke Kay? Boxer? Might as well name them Avenue, Bet, Deke Kompose and Wrestler. I know this movie was based on an old tv show but still…
