Chappie did not kill Vincent, he just made sure Vincent wasn't gonna kill anybody else. Vincent was gonna get locked up for life for what he did anyways, but Chappie had to make an example out of him too
Everyone's talking about how Vincent didn't die, but are we going to address the fact that Michael didn't switch bodies, he died. The real him died and what was uploaded to the robot was only a copy of his mind and memories.

Yeah we all played SOMA too, but this is not that universe. For all we know he does transfer consciousness in Chappie. You can't just take a different piece of fiction and treat it like some kind of universal law like dummies do with Asimov's law of robotics.
@ReaverLordTonus6 ай бұрын
@@Peaches-i2i actually I wasn't thinking of SOMA but thanks for bringing it up, I was thinking in terms of metaphysics, whether it's the soul according to agnostic theologians or whatever the atheistic equivalent is, our consciousness in our bodies, our self awareness, is unique and can only ever exist once. It can't be removed and transplanted, I'll go as far as to say that in Chappie's case, he too is now a copy of the original, sure with AI it's easy to duplicate and transfer everything down to the last detail, but there's still a point where the essence of someone is deconstructed in a manner in which it no longer exists as it was, and thus an ending to that person's life.

2:53 judging by how vincent's injuries look, and with the force that chappie exerted onto him: torn tendons/muscle and shattered bones in this left/right forearms and dislocated left wrist, Right shin bone is cracked with metal/drywall from the ceiling lodged in, left femur cracked along debris lodged in flesh as well, Spine may have slipped disks or a shattered vertebre, though its unknown at this angle, Blunt trauma to crainial region, traumatic brain damage is going to occure, mutiple cuts, ruptured left ear drum. Ribs cracked/separated, abdominal muscles torn/brusing, hemoraging diaphragm, internal organs brused/ruptured. Verdict: He is at moderate risk of dying if his injuries are not treated, but has a good chance for survival. However he is not going to be able to threaten any of his coworkers with his dinky weenie pistol anymore, let alone walk or talk correctly.
@Shadpheonix20056 ай бұрын
Woah! Finally, someone did the math on this! So, Vincent would pretty much never function the same again? Do you think he survived, assuming if a second movie was made? He may have survived with today’s medical technology but one hundred years ago it may have been different.

IMO as a bouncer for years who’s seen plenty of violence up close. I’d say Vincent would have died from his injuries IRL. It’s a movie so who knows but IRL he’s toast unless he gets to a ER within minutes. It really doesn’t take much to end a human life be careful out there at the bars young men reading. That robot kick to the chest, being thrown into a ceiling and then free falling 12 feet onto hard floor. spinal fracture three major broken bones probably internal bleeding like the list could go on and on frankly. I had to lateral toss somebody onto pavement who had gone for a weapon and they just like gurgled... and like whimpered until the emts showed up. And I’m not a robot just a big dude who wrestled.
