its a profitable industry ... 9k chicken @ price of 4£ each that makes 36k i don't know about the costs of breeding and grow these birds but i think its quite a profitable industry.

Yes it is profitable industry but very risky because broiler breed is very sensitive and if your farm is not properly bio-secured then disease can hit your entire flock in days. One has to be extremely careful before starting a flock, house should be properly bio secured, price of per chick, proper medications, cost of medications, timely vaccinations, fresh feed, chicken rate at the time when the flock is ready to go in the market etc etc. It is a full time job.

This is Belgium system and it is not recommended to give feed directly through feed pans to day old chick and if we do at this stage chicks gonna stuck in to the pans and die. It happened so many times. So to get rid of this problem we have temporary pans to feed them at the beginning. This is very first flock in this shed.

Only One THICK layer of Pure Dry Rice Husk. Thickness of Layer is depend on the season of running flock, humidity level and over all condition of the shed. In this video, total weight of 230 Monds (9200 KG) Rice Husk has been used in this shed having size of 430 feet by 50 Feet.

Animal Welfare doesn't seem too good here. When a chick is placed in the barn, they are supposed to be placed one by one, by hand; not just dumping the box. And no, I'm not an animal rights activist, I'm a fellow poultry farmer

Why you you have any feed in the feed pans and why arent the feed pans in flood mode ? There is no way near enough feed in that area.. Your wasting valuable feed conversion steps and your killing yourself on the formation of the gut.. Where is this ? obviously a place that isnt familiar with growing chickens ? The building looks nice though..

They are one day old chick, just arrived. These pans will be used later on. Feeding lines will be pulled up at the top, manual feeding pans will be used instead. After few days manual pans will be removed and main line will be used which are going g to be automated feeding lines. Don't have to give feed immediately since they are 1 day old chick, if they eat they will die because of York in their body. They have to digest naturally by running and drinking special water for digestion. Feeding pans will be laid after few hours. By the way this is Belgium system running at Lahore, Pakistan.
