The 1864 clipper ship City of Adelaide is only one move away from her permanent home on land later in this year. The ship + cradle had to be raised 1.5 meters to enable the SPMT (Self Propelled Modular Transporter) to be driven in under. At her new home she will become the main attraction in the proposed Maritime Village here at Dock 2, Port Adelaide. South Australia.
She is the last of the steel framed (with original hull) passenger clipper ship in the world.
Many thanks to Maritime Constructions for their continuing support.

Great project, great to see the preservation of such a historic vessel. Had a great visit in 2022.

Hello John, & thank you for your visit & comment. To term it as a milestone, would be an understatement when it finally leaves the barge come Sept/Oct to it's permanent home on solid earth.

I've watched a couple of moves like this, smaller, but heavy. It's great to watch this move, awaiting the next part!

Hello Steam Crane. Thank you for your comment & interest. All things being equal (as we well know, not all is equal!) As mentioned, the month of September is set for Stage 3 & the final "sailing".

Wonderful, such a worthy project and historic vessel. From a South Texas admirer, God Bless the volunteers and everyone making the project work.

Thank you for your comments TJ. Just an added P.S to the volunteers....NOT one single person (from the Board of Directors to all others involved) receive ANY remuneration whatsoever. This includes the numerous trips to Scotland & UK some Board members made in the early stages of this massive project entirely at their own expense.
