you really should put all these ideas and videos into a package to sell. All your vids are proper. Im 53, old school early 90s Junglist. Trackers, Akai's, Emus and the headache of MIDI. I learn something new here every video. Inside the box.. So thank you for your time and effort brother!

Something I've done in Logic and I'd imagine you can do this in other DAWs too, is to export wav with dithering. When I've done this, as long as the track hasn't got audible distortion despite being in the red on the master, the bounce out will then export as is and when put back into the project it'll meter at zero. So there's some kind of clipping going on with that dither. Give it a try see what you think. Was mind blown.

When listening to the sides of your mix are you hearing any artifacts ? I find when using a clipper then it affects the side information, the difference of each channel clipped differently can cause distortion on the sides. Usually something with a lookahead eliminates this but each to their own when it comes to taste. Solid advice overall so thank you 😉

What happens when you bounce a track out that peaks above 0 is that it simply normalizes the track, meaning that the loudest point just gets turned to 0. The rest of the file will drop in volume accordingly. In this case the entire track would drop 4.3 dB in volume. Just wanted to state that clearly. As far as i'm aware, the actual reason that it doesn't sound like it's hard clipping in Logic when beyond 0 on the master (and probably in all other daws) is that the output works in 24 bit float, right? It's just software making sure you are listening to the non-clipped version, even though it would be clipping massively in 16 bit if it wasn't normalized. I've done this for years too, and it's really the only reliable way i've found to get nice loudness, but i'm really curious why you would use the hard clip mode in PhatFX? It distorts like crazy when pushed. To me, if it sounds too soft with the soft clipper, it tells me that I just didn't get my transients right in my sound design/drum design. Nevertheless, thanks for spreading the word on clip-mixing! Keep slurpin'!

Slurp de Durp Big G!!! Another great tutorial as always, but I'm finding out that i KNOW NOTHING!! LOL. So, Im putting away some cash to invest in a ONE on ONE with you to Better understand My MANY plug -ins as well as other questions I have. I suggest others here in the Comment section to do the same. As always> PEACE and GOOD HEALTH to ALL!!!😎

not me clipping everything before pushing it into a limiter for every channel including the master only to wonder where my dynamics went 😭 so yeah thank you for this advice, i will try and beat my pro l-2 addiction from now on 😅
