Clipsie’s New Studio Space!!

Setting up the new studio space including integrated part storage below the display table. The display table will be long and shallow to accommodate a small city layout. Total space is equivalent to 19 baseplates!

Thanks! I’m very pleased with how it turned out! The Kallax units were the perfect solution to house my part storage and provide a stable base for the city!! 🙂

Feels like you have the perfect space for 48 stud deep buildings and a 16 stud road that goes up to the “table” edge *or* 32 stud deep buildings, space for a wider brick-built roads and an 8 wide sidewalk at the edge of the “table” (maybe with a decorative stone wall as if it was bordering a river/lake/cliff)

Do you live in earthquake prone part of the us? If not, If you put shelving above you build space, you could use that space to store modular buildings so that you can swap them out.

I love this idea! Unfortunately, I’m in a rental situation at the moment and don’t think the landlord would approve of me installing massive shelves! And nope! Generally no earthquakes here (except the ones caused by the kitties!) 😆

My setup is similar for now. My Ikea tables are 23 1/2 inches deep so I have a row of buildings along the wall with room for my lighting wires behind. Then I have sidewalks and roads in front of the buildings giving me about 3 inches open area to the front edge of the table. It's been this way for a year now but I'm itching for more room for sure.

I’m excited for this upgrade! Being able to build streets, sidewalks, etc is what I’ve been craving. I can definitely see how I’ll just want more and more space!! 😁 Small beginnings and all! 😊

I’m super stoked!! Compared to my previous display area I have so much opportunity now! That said modular builds fill space up fast! Haha 😆

Where did you get / what’s the brand of the drawers in the called units as well as those short legs?

Hi Gordon! The drawer units are the IRIS USA Craft Organizers and Storage units. They are available in a number of drawer configurations and I ordered them from Amazon. The short legs are adjustable furniture legs. These are the Olldag ones that adjust from 4.72-7.48 Inches high and come as a 4 pack on Amazon. There are a bunch of different brands and heights available.
