On the tourist Parkrun trail again today and as the weather had been wet all week, went for Clitheroe, an all-tarmac course of 5 laps around the castle grounds. Sounded great until I started running - you'll see😂😂😂

I suppose you’re either a miles or km person, and you stick with that😊

I know what you are doing wrong. It's those 1k warm ups. You are turning 5k into 6k. My rule is , don't run until you have to 😂

Thing is, I’d stopped doing warm ups😂

@@AndyCliffMTB I have never done warm ups or stretches or anything. Apart from once a few years ago when I injured myself and couldn't run for two months. So none of that pre run stuff for me, just walk to the line and go. On the odd occasion I have been late and had to jog to the start , it always gives me a slower time so I've never agreed with the mantra that warm ups help you run faster. Maybe for elite athletes but not for mere mortals.

@@theaverageparkrunner That's interesting Paul, coincidentally there's an article in Runners World this month about warm ups. They concluded that warm ups combined with dynamic stretching gave the best performance, I suppose it depends on how fast you want to go, and how easily you get injured etc.

What is the street name next to the car park or the car park name you parked in
