Enfield is truly one of the world's greatest comedians. But if he was to come round my house after bedtime waking us up with his witty one-liners and impressions, I say 'Oy Enfield! No! Whilst I admire your many and diverse comedy creations, I do not appreciate being woken up in the middle of the bloody night!'

I always used to think Clive Anderson was an inexplicable choice to be on TV, with his snideness, self regard, stacatto delivery and habit of interupting when the viewer was most interested in what was being said. I still do, but I used to as well.

@DnB and Psy Production I'm almost certain if Clive hadn't wrapped up the interview in record time then we'd have seen Harry having a little go at an impersonation.
@PaulRoneClarke

Clive butts in with the most obvious, witless one liners after every...single....sodding...line. If he can see a way to twist what his guest has just said into a pun an 8 year old might be ashamed of. He says it anyway. No self censorship - if he thinks it - he says it. Worse, he interrupts his guests replying to what he's just asked them. That means we never get more than one sentence from his guests. Every interview is turned into a series of non sequiturs where even a guest as quick witted as Harry seems to be left wondering what direction the interviewer is taking it.

Clive's jokes are cheap and aggressive, that's why he's so unlikeable and makes his guests feel uneasy instead of relaxing them and opening them. He's like that guy at the pub who thinks that playfully saying "you're shit" counts as banter and is therefore good bonding material
