I used to work in a posh little boutique. One of the silliest things we sold were bits of paper with trite inspirational messages tied to a seashell and hanging from a string. Expensive and one of our best selling objects. Sold several dozen every day. People are stupid.

The character was really based on the look of James may. He even gives a nod to him in one scene and says “oh cock.”

I have an ex-girlfriend who lives in West London. Privately educated. I don't think she has ever had a proper job. Her parents are wealthy. She's an 'interior designer/photographer'. Maybe one day she will open one of those tiny shops with a £12,000 antique chair in the window. And yes, I did see her coming. Very frequently.😻

My last girlfriend never had a proper job either even though she was in her 30s. Sadly she was piss poor and never had any money.

@@PizzaLord Why do women bother with getting a useless degree in lesbian poetry or underwater basket weaving. Or bother with some pointless job when they can marry an older man with money when they are in their prime (18-25).

I remember Balham, Clapham South / Common way mid 90s into the 00s when property trebled overnight. Knew some guys that opened such shops and the fortunes they made in a year was fantastic (back then, rent was pretty reasonable still). It was a case of seeing this social type coming and taking full advantage. I worked in Balham leisure center and they were forever doing aerobics. Really nice bubbly people to know, but feckin airheads; bless 'em. Bonus if you saw them in the pub. Pretty much a 50% off evening.
