Clive, Plan on playing guitar for life and for a living - - - you shine above so many. You are a forerunner in the UK - - - just accept it. God gives gifts, and you got the 6 string -

THANKS FOR THE LESSON, CLIVE. I've also learned something new about playing swing rhythm through a celtic guitar lesson. This is very informative. A good instructor with a sense of humor.

@442mario The first tune he does, first with pick, then with fingers, is called MacIntyres Fancy, aka John Brady's. Arranged by Clive I think.

Very easy, if you are Clive Carroll ;-) However it is clear, we can understand what he is doing; and then there are a few decades of practice and talent, of course

i think the little buzz sound is coming from direction and force of his pluck, if you look at his right hand when he plucks the string, hes almost pulling the string up , so its vibrating vertically( probably more of a circular motion , like an elliptical shape) rather then horizontally. i think its an obscure part of his style. if you dont really pay attention to the tone quality and relate to your playing, i think the rough sound fits. i like it. why dont you?

Do you have a Celtic flatpicking album, Clive? Lovely playing!
@PipersGrip12 жыл бұрын
You can go to thesession (dot) org or folktunefinder (dot) com. The first tune he played was only part of a tune, and that was the Cliffs of Moher. The second tune, the one he played all throughout the video, was called Siobhan O'Donnell's.

Cool. Finger picking has always sort of intimidated me. Hard as Hades for me, for some reason, to get a full grasp of it. And if you start adding a percussive sound? Fuggedabowdit !

I'm wanting to learn the guitar. Any suggestions on guitar type? I am adult with quite small hands lol. I find normal guitars quite big and bulky. I am wanting to play celtic/folk/blues music any particular guitar I need? Full or 3/4? Steel or nylon? Cut away or not? Thanks!
@fernandoom58729 жыл бұрын
+msjaffacake If I may suggest: reach a good guitar store and try different models. Try a OOO or OM model, much more comfortable for playing than a dreadnought. Then try a nylon, will not hurt your fingers as steel. Spend some time deciding which suits you best and then, buy a Martin.
