She really shines here. She was so quick, hilarious, brilliant, beautiful. My heart hurts that she's gone.

Wow, thanks for this. Clive James also on KZbin with another interview of young Carrie Fisher (year?) behind a big news desk. I wonder if I can find the NY Times article cited here calling her "a master of the sustained awkward moment" so I can see what is being referred to as examples of that.

I know her kind of humor, it's similar to mine. I also have been chronically depressed since I was a teen. Humor is a such a great way of coping. What a remarkable, beautiful woman. A real shame she never got the happy ending she deserved.

RIP, Yes, Carrie was far too young to pass. Yet, by the time that you hit age 25, one should realize that "ALWAYS being ON" & ready w/ a viper tongued, sarcastic, & unamused/uninterested attitude is something pple hv outgrown. AND WORKING TO USE YOUR CELEBRITY, DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU ARE WITHOUT PERSONALITY, (not Carrie's funniest, caustic "one-liner). And many celebs hv been helping charities quietly since the Sixties - ALL, w/o any press attention. I attended the Malibu Party at Jerry Weintraub's home that Carrie refers to here. I am also a Liberal Democrat. And so is David Geffen, who Carrie arrived with. Geffen perked up & was so happy to introduce, (he really md such a sincere effort to do this), ... to introduce his talented, beautiful blonde woman friend from Malibu, (who was a recording artist on his label) ... WHEN Geffen rushed Carrie over to introduce the two....WOW, Carrie was so INCREDIBLY rude & as his other friend, (behaving like a lady), extended her hand & warm smile. Carrie was so incredibly dismissive. I have never witnessed such ugly behavior. Carrie just left in the middle of the introduction, leaving this other lovely woman, (an "A Lister"), who was completely flabbergasted, (but NOT hurt?) Carrie just turned, walked away towards a drinks waiter. (Carrie, ... well, they ALL were already holding full champagne flutes). Again, all of this in mid-sentance? To watch David Geffen spinning in circles to apologize on behalf of Carrie Fisher to his lovely Malibuite woman friend & colleague was just amazing. Bravo to David Geffen for showing some real manners. His friend was nonplussed & moved along to mingle with other ADULT guests, (while still placating David Geffen, that all was fine). It's too bad that Carrie Fisher's money and age could not bring her to, (or buy), some class. A horrid thing to witness.
