Amazing. I was lucky enough to see Prince live many times from the 1980s to the 2010s. Every single performance was truly incredible, mindblowing actually. I miss not being able to see him play again but what a legacy he left us 💟

1990....what a year. I actually sang Summertime from Porgy and Bess onstage at a local concert just days before my 9th birthday that year. I was also learning to play piano on a Casio keyboard as well. The sentimental fact my sister sent me this clip of Prince playing Summertime on piano in 1990 just days after he left touched my heart. Two things come to mind at 1:22 and 1:35. 1) He moved with the grace of a ballet dancer. And 2) How ironic to see him getting on an elevator, knowing that’s how he left us. I miss him! I miss his talent! But, he left wonderful music behind for us to enjoy, and, he did a lot to help the music business behind the scenes!

I remember the first time I saw this, I kept replaying that little bit when he is playing that cool looking Auerswald guitar, my fav Prince moments have always been when he is at his funkiest, I appreciate and love the rest but there was just something about when he was just being funky that I loved. That little clip is only a few seconds long and I have watched countless times. It’s maybe not his most iconic guitar but it plays a big part in his music, a lot of sign o the times was recorded using it. Plus we have the Alphabet St. video maybe I’m a little bias towards it as the Nude Tour was my first live concert of his that I saw Cork 7.7.90 it was complete mania, great memories 😊💟☮️✝️

Anyway, it's impressive he could play keyboards, piano, guitar, drums and bass that well, and on top of that write music, arrange and produce, doing everything by himself on his records, being a prolific musician, creating many hits, and being a big influence on other musicians. This is even more impressive than playing the violin, the saxophone and the harmonica.
