Hi All! I'm back with another tutorial on how to construct a basic backpack.

Thank you for sharing video about creating a backpack! I want to ask a question about (2:25). How can I keep the shape of backpack while activating a simulation? My backpack is so light and isn't able to keep the shape.

at 17:53 I would just copy the texture. Transform Graphic tool - select the piece with zipper texture - Left click. After that- Ctr+C (copy), then Ctrl+V (paste) and a yellow rectangle appears, this is the texture. Position it on your new zipper piece and - Left click. Done!

Hi Indra! Sorry about the confusion, I meant to say turn off gravity. Right click anywhere in the 3D window and select Simulation properties. Then find gravity in the property editor and change to 0.

How did you measure the outside circumference? Did you use a shortcut?

Hi Stephen - I'm just using the Edit Pattern (Z) tool and selecting multiple segments while holding SHIFT. You'll see the total length of the selected segments below your cursor.

hello i've been trying to get a firm form on the pattern by using strengthen but it's still a bit loose, did you change anything other than gravity and strengthen on simulation?

Yes! Click on "Simulation" on the top right corner of the CLO window (to the right of your username) to access the drop down menu and select "Print Layout". There you can view your patterns on a fabric roll width that shows your fabric consumption.

Clo3D designed for the fashion industry has V-Ray integrated. If you are using Marvelous Designer which is Clo3D's sister application for the VFX & gaming industries I believe you have to use an external renderer or you could send to Closet for rendering.

Hi! Sorry about that, didn't realize the text wasn't clear. I meant to say to turn Gravity off before simulating so that the backpack doesn't fall onto to the ground.

Select the internal shape with the Transform Pattern tool (A), then right-click on the shape and select "Clone as Pattern" (CTRL + SHIFT + C).

I think it's just your right click doesn't work in the video.. you put the same measurement int the window of measurement, is not a keyboard shortcut XD

To float, gravity is set at zero.

Hi Justin - Select a pattern edge with the Edit Pattern tool and right-click to select "Offset as Internal Line".

How easily can you add internal pockets, gussets, or reinforced bottoms and sides(stiffeners)? Or is there a better program for that?
