Okay. Now I understand Cloak's mysterious name. She is actually an undercover agent for OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) sent here to inspect KA for the workplace safety of its employees (aka the faculty). How clever of her to show Mr A & Dr DJ that the duct vents could be a hazard to determined cats.

So glad Mr A was able to retrieve Cloak, when my Ollie cat was very small,about the size of Cloaks kittens he got in the cupboard under the kitchen sink and got down a space around the gas meter I could hear him moving about under the kitchen floor,my brother was outside working on his car and he said try and coax him out or I’ll have to pull up the floorboards,i got a tin of tuna and tied a chunk of tuna around a long piece of string and dangled it down the gap, as he moved near the gap I pulled it up then his head popped up and thankfully I managed to grab him he was covered in dirty cobwebs,I then blocked off the area around the gas meter,so relieved he was out😊

We had a kitten who found an old hole in the wall behind the stove area and crawled in for a nice nap panic ensued until she came out yawning and hungry 🤗👍 It’s been nearly thirty years since Becky went on her adventure and nearly ten since she went over the rainbow bridge ❤❤❤

Naturally, these events are always funnier after the fact. 😜 I wondered what the heck Mr. A was gonna do with that rubber mallet @06:45. 🤔🤨😱😂 The endoscope was a brilliant idea - just a tad late... 😂😂 The shot of Cloak in the rafters was priceless. No wonder Mr. A. went to bed exhausted! 😬😼🙀 All's well that ends well. Kitten- & cat-proofing improvements will be made, and Cloak will go down in K.A. history as the greatest escape artist. 😉😂Mr. A. will briefly consider a course of Gabapentin for his shredded nerves, but Dr. D.J. will assure him 2 Aspirin and some bed rest will fix him right up. 😁😍 Life at the Academy will return to normal. 😹😻

Wow! How nerve wracking for Mr. A! I have similar floor vents, but thankfully my kitties have never messed with them...even when I had them open for cleaning...better believe I went around and checked that the covers are all secured while this was going on.

We have the BIG old-fashioned floor vents. (House built in 1949-50.) One time over 20 years ago, our big tabby and calico both decided to go exploring in the ducts when I was in the middle of cleaning them. Ever since, I never remove a floor vent screen without closing any kitties in another room first. It only took 'em a second to slip in there, but then they didn't come out again for a couple of hours! (Silly Cloak.)

Oh my, that seems to be a first with Cloak adventuring through the vent. I t made me think of my own vents and being so glad that they were cemented since the heating vents were switched on the ceiling.😊😊 Wow, I'm glad it was a happy outcome.😊 Bizzicat, you surely know how to bring it all together. 😊 So , unfortunately , it was no joke that Cloak took a poke down through the duct just to find herself on the mercy of a rafter in the garage, I believe 😮

One of my cats cleaned our vents the same way. I thought I heard light meowing and went to tell my son as he was RUNNING to turn off the furnace. Apparently Juice (of Beetle & Juice) got into the vent on my son's side of the condo, and just as that was happening he came out on my side. How he got the vents off is beyond me. But yes, turning off the furnace is SO IMPORTANT! My son does HVAC so he knew that immediately.

Wow! She just broke the record from The Plumber brothers, Serenity, Caper, ASTRO and Serenity! I figured she stayed in the ductwork in the room under the floor, but that's quite the feat to get all the way down to the basement rafters and find the food. Guess they're going to have to kitty proof the heating vents. Wow!😮

and that's the thing with some cats - doors would be an easy option (as we saw with Serenity, who often let herself out) but sometimes, you have to take that 'I've seen enough movies to know that the best form of escape is always the air vent' approach. easy to forget that cats can squeeze through the sort of gaps we overlook and we've all seen those clips of young cats and kittens squeezing easily under bathroom and bedroom doors. it's probably going through Mr A's mind that he should've named them after toothpaste!! 🤣

We guess she just pulled it off by hooking claws underneath the edges. They are quite heavy as I have the same type of HVAC system. She only weighs about 5.5lbs.

Good morning Bizzicat🙏❤️. Do hope you had a nice Christmas? I did even though it was quite exhausting for me. Well!😳. I at first saw that Mr. A was looking down into the vent in Cloaks room then he was measuring and I found it kinda odd and at first didn’t put two and to tougher. Then he brought Dr. DJ in there and he mentioned about something like “I don’t know how she got down there” and I went into panic mode and was thinking at first it was one of the kittens and then I saw them both and no mom and then really panicked cause I was thinking the babies needed their mommy and what would they do without her too. I even had to go to sleep but I did t too early like I had planned cause I had to go to dialysis that next morning to make up for Wednesday that was Christmas Day so, when I got up the for dialysis at 4am and got together I went eight to my iPad and to KA to see if she was back qith her kids and she wasn’t and I then didn’t realize you weren’t home when I sent the message to you on your last comment to me. It was not long after I got home from dialysis that I saw thet Me. A did bring Cloak back into her room with her babies and they all were so happy to be together again. I was so relieved when I saw Mr. A being cloak back into her room. My prayers all morning were answered. Cats most definitely can get into the most smallest of places. Don’t ever underestimate a cat and I do pray that all vents are made to not open unless it is Mr. A thwt does it. God bless and thanks again. God bless and hugs my friend. Sue M.
