Concur’d. Seen and done a lot of cloaking fails. It’s… way too easy sometimes to stop thinking and forget that it’s not “phase but I can still shoot!” Plus. I’ve Wingman Elite headshotted a lot of cloak pilots. The best advice I can offer there is that enemy pilots might not see YOU, but they might see the movement.

Something I noticed was left out. If you are carrying Titan battery, the battery will emmit green trails. Even if you're cloaked, or running Low Profile. The battery on your back will still emmit the trails. However, they do bot appear if you are not moving.

If I remember correctly, using an ordinance like the grenade or satchel doesn't remove the cloak. Even if you do any damage with an ordinance, you won't lose your cloak. Cloaking and using satchels can be so much fun when used on titans.

Knocked up dust revealing you is something they purposefully implemented. That little attention to detail is so huge in the franchise since 1 and even Bangalore in Apex takes out a pilot in her backstory by seeing through his cloak in the smoke of a burning building.

As a cloak user since launch I can not stress enough the importance of not cloaking as a reaction. Even if you survive you won't have it for when you need it. Excellent video and all fantastic pointers. I personally like to add on warpfall on my titan so I can call it down faster after a rodeo. While rodeoing when your character looks down to grab the battey you can call in your titan either where they are standing or slightly behind. It's not a garuntee crush kill. But the free battey will help out if it doesn't crush. Also if you use Firestarter and stick them in the leg or low chest you have a higher chance of them not noticing the audio trigger for an incoming titanfall. This is all very risky but has huge payoffs when done right and can turn a losing battle into a winning one. Good luck out there pilots!

Even without warpafall you can eliminate a titan by crushing it with your own. You need to escape with the battery call your buddy and when you die and the dumb pilot goes to recover the battery BAM, you can laugh at him trough the chat.

Another Tip: If you dont have Low profile, Just dont Jump or wall run when Cloaked, Only be on the ground and use stairs, Avoid jumping or failing and you wont be seen by a titan when cloaked

I used to play a lot of a character with a similar kit in another movement shooter , and I feel the nearly identical mechanics for cloaking probably leads to similar aims despite map design and gamemodes changing how it plays out. If used against pilots, cloak is best used as an ambushing or flanking tool, and in the latter case is best served by already being out of sight or in the peripheral of enemies. It allows you to take much more convenient routes, becoming the background noise at long range or in chaotic moments, but doesn't really cover you walking directly in front of someone. People overstate the difference cloak makes in firefight, I feel. Unless the outline you have is super hazy (like with Titans), anybody playing under normal conditions will track you just fine. Keeping that single limitation in mind and going out of your way to catch people unaware will do wonders for you. As for ambushes, you'd be surprised how many don't notice the huge grey blob just sitting still where they shouldn't be. It's a proper day ruiner to get outplayed by someone literally not touching their keyboard. People notice movement far more than the color discrepency unless they've already started looking, so just not drawing attention to yourself will put you on the front foot far more often than it has any right to. Blasphemous in a game like this, I know, but it has its applications.

Due to the fast paced gameplay of Titanfall 2 it's not entirely necessary to absolutely fool your enemy with the cloak or even the holopilot ability. The delayed response from the enemy due to your ability grants should be enough time for you get the first shot off which usually enough to win the fight. Despite it not being true invisibility like you said in some situations it might as well be. There is a lot of visual noise generated by the interaction of both teams which helps the cloak ability even more.

2 tips I can give are: 1: Use the pilot's stealth kit, this way you save having to run all the time and you can jump, although it is true that sometimes one prefers to use others, but it is a good recommendation 2:Use the skill when you are going to enter a "danger" zone. Using camouflage is, so to speak, like wearing a bulletproof coat, once you put it on it will give you a small window of time to Don't let your enemies kill you so quickly, plus this will help you go more unnoticed and perhaps overlooked, which will allow you to kill your enemies and always have the first shot.

-Cloak delays lock-on based weapons like the smart pistol and Legion's smart core, this makes cloak useful when facing a smart pistol user since they need more time before they can shoot you. -Cloak is not supposed to be limited to camping, sure you can use it that way but I personally think it benefits from aggressive play, rushing down pilots with reduces visibility is still nice to have, specially in a game like Titanfall 2 where you are mostly used to shoot anything that's red instead of looking for cloaked players, same goes for titans. -Carrying a battery reveals your location to titans, you can counter this by using an arc grenade or a firestar to the face. -Cloak is not very good for capture the flag, however you can still cooperate by guarding the flag or holding main choke points, if you want to attack the flag, the best you can do is to stay close to the enemy's base, hiding and keeping distance from hostiles, and when a teammate gets the flag, to escort them/ watch for rushing enemies. -Fear factor: sometimes you don't even need to rush titans when running cloak, you can just activate it in front of a titan, and if you survive, get to cover, most of titans usually panic when they realize they have a cloak pilot stalking them and they will start to shoot/melee randomly, if you move unpredictably you might as well make then waste their abilities, then you can let another titan rush them while you go do something else or wait for the moment to attack the same titan you've scared. Thought i could leave these extra tips here that I have learned from pure experience with this class.

0:14 one thing to add: pilots carrying a battery will also be easily exposed due to its green shine on your back. The cloack does not conceal it so keep that in my mind once you pick up a battery.

I love how random this video is, was just scrolling and stumbled upon it by complete accident. This actually reminds me, since I was (still am) a holopilot main, I used to help out players to get to grips with the game, especially the holopilot as it was arguably the most unpopular pilot loadout, it was so much fun teaching new and old pilots alike. I run cloak, low profile and EPG on my titaj destroyer loadout and it's shredding. Mix it with holo nova and you have a heck of a confused titan. Sometimes i manage to land on him three times and then run off

Cloak is one of the abilities I never use because all my experience fighting cloak users is that they either hide in a corner or are easy as balls to see and deal with. Punching enemies and throwing ordnance like grenades or satchel charges will keep your cloak on. If you execute a player, the cloak will temporarily disable for the animation, but will reenable after the execution.

Though this is fairly obvious, for my new cloak pilots, shooting any of your weapons (i.e primary, secondary, & anti-titan) will immediately de-cloak yourself. As some other helpful pilot tips in this comment section have pointed out, getting behind your enemy and not drawing attention will net you some of the easiest kills as a movementless pilot. First starting off, an easy mistake I made one too many times was not taking the extra half second to guarantee the kill shot before decloaking. Happy hunting pilots, - Marv’s Finest.

Me and my friends do piloted Vs titans IE I’m a titan they both try to kill me with only couple life’s for them both. I’ve detected some real bull shit seeing the faintest shimmer, hearing the tiniest climb then zipping around and sniping them lol. We would go over recording and I’d show them what I saw and it’s so funny haha.
