I was 15 or 16 when this game was new. I remember this battle was so fucked and difficult for me that I took it home (it was my best friend’s game) and spent an additional 5 hours beating it with headphones on. Never been so happy to be stuck on a boss, this track was my theme for years. I’m 36 now and it actually makes me cry. They hit some fantastic notes in this track, it deserves serious praise. Not many games aside from Silent Hill made such excellent use of that driving, imperative bass and I swear high school felt like this every single day. That’s how alienated I felt… for no reason than I didn’t under who I was, or where my true strength waited for me. This track helped. It is part of my strength’s meagre but sophisticated power. This track makes me feel like my power is multivalent, adaptive, manipulative when need be, and brute when need be. I have found I need all forms strength to survive as I am. Damn this was so overlooked here. Granted the game wasn’t fantastic, but it was oddly meaningful to most people I know who finished it. This track still makes itself known and remembered at least 3-4 times a year and when that happens I have to drop it all and recharge. Fukken thanks for this, mate.

I started playing the original Clock Tower and I have to say coming from this game, it's not really my cup of tea. I much prefer the Resident Evil styling of this game to the point-and-click adventure format of the first.

2 year old comment, I know but... I think the concept and new direction was needed to get more appeal to the franchise. The click style was just too wonky sometimes and annoying. But with this, the panic gauge and mechanics really make it feel more like a game but still kept the terror factor of it very much alive. If anything it made it better. Knowing you could just click like crazy to dodge and outdo scissorman encounters wasn't all that bad sometimes. It just was a matter of knowing where to go. But with this there was more story to uncover with all the different killers. And God, it was scary just to hide and seeing the panic gauge rise lol. I think it deserved some credit for trying because its a tough genre to touch.

@@Recon-cv1fe RE has a special place in my heart since me being a kid in the 90s. To watch it litterally grow and evolve, but Silent Hill? Ya your talking my language! Started it on silent hill 4 the room. Then back played 1-3. Would give anything for the what wouldve been perfected "Silent Hills" to have been released and not cancled. I had a copy of P.T on my ps4 at the time. First horror game/demo to ever make me have to seriously pause... and put down the controller of straight fear..

@@sayianpride3516 Man I was HYPED for silent hills after I played P.T. I'll try to make this sound sensible; but Silent Hills looked revolutionary. Such as the first time I played RE4. RE4 was a whole different ball game than the first 3. Over the shoulder camera angles; a massive difficulty spike, not zombies but crazy people being controlled by a parasite. It was as the back of the game box said, "Resident Evil: Reimagined". That's what silent hills was to me; reimagined. Then they cancelled it; my level of disappointment was immeasurable

I hear Kijomi i belive, the creator of it stated after Death Stranding he was going back to creating a Horror Game. One can only hope he makes something as brilliant as PT looked and felt. Also nother good pure survival Horror ive loved to is Outlast.

I remembered the first time I bought this game back in 2004 when I was 14 and I remembered my first time going against sledgehammer i died like 2 times on my first try lol and I finally beaten him on my 3rd try and I finally beat this back in 2006 when I was 16 like 4 times and replayed it all over again in 2016 as an adult and beaten like 5 times that year and replaying clock tower 3 all over again this year my favorite game of all
