I do hope you at least become a nominee, I love seeing what original universe stuff people can make for the Saxxies. I remember that for either the 2012 or 2013 Saxxies they had a Best Original Universe category, but so little people entered, and it was canned. Got to meet the award winner too. Hmm, I've been getting a lot of the same questions regarding this, so I'm gonna answer as many as I can with this comment. 1. Q: What are the characters from? A: They are made by me. This is an Original IP thing 2. Q: Who is the red haired girl? A: She is "Glade" 3. Q: Was this Inspired by Doctor Who? A: It wasn't intentional. The original concept for this short was mainly based on Kaizo Mario (really hard trial/error mario levels) and it later evolved into this. I haven't seen Doctor Who or the episode in question yet 4. Q: What about the sword Functions? A: The colors represent different modes of gravity manipulation (source engine wise). Orange = Gravity Gun = force pushes. Blue = Physics Gun (from Gmod) = grab. Green = attract, I made it green because it needed to be distinct from the other 2 5. Q: Is this a series? A: Yes, this is a series of mine called Sourcetales, that I plan to continue at some point with the next addition to the series; Leaktale 6. Q: This should be a video game! A: I have no experience in game programming or designing games, so I don't think this will ever really happen any time soon :p

You should really watch that episode of Doctor Who, called "Heaven Sent". Believe me, there's so much resemblance between it and this that it's just too much to be a coincidence. But Clocktale's a great piece of work nonetheless. Should have at least been nominated. :\

It would make more sense to be where it starts in the video as the player would then find out that they are trapped and would try to break out. But I agree it could work both ways (coming from a games developer)

I find myself coming back to this on occasion. It's still so original, so earnestly made. It may not have even won a nomination, but I think it stands with the best of them. I also get some early-era RWBY vibes from the design cues, which is probably a product of how and when it was produced.

And when the entire mountain is chiseled away, the first second of eternity will have passed.” You must think that’s a hell of a long time. Personally, I think that’s a hell of a bird. This seemed to be very much inspired by the episode Heaven Sent from the most recent Series of Doctor Who. And god it was a lovely and amazing tribute. The second I saw the intro scene with the teleporter and the countdown at the top and even the flower, I knew exactly what this was going to be and I loved every second of it. Well done Anomalous.

I agree. So what I'm thinking: The concept is similar to the game Moirai or Curiosity: What's Inside the Cube, as a playthrough of the game helps or effects other player's playthrough. Whenever a new game would start up, a course with enemies similar to the ones in this video is randomly generated, and upon completion of the course, you can mash a button to hit the clock face up to 50 times until you are killed. After dying, the game should add the amount of times you hit the glass to the combined total of all the other players of the game. The player to finally break the glass at the 1,000,000th hit would receive a secret video or reward of some sort, with the option to publish it to the public. After 1,000,000 hits, the number should reset back to 0 for a chance for other players to receive the reward. Additionally, once dying after hitting the glass, you would have the option to write a message to the next player that plays the game.

this is a great idea, but you forgotten to account for the player getting board, diving 1000000 times would get old, and if its the exact things every time, the player would later find little ways to mess with everything, as in how undertale worked, for example, what would happen if they went for the main sort of villain rather than the stone guards, or not get the sword, if you account for these variables, as in provide a reason for doing all this, or slight changes in attack patterns, such as, in one life, a, idk, blue potato shoots you from afar, but in life 2, he's no longer there, seeing as though he's not effected by the "loop" and those who have died in earlier lives that don't reset stay dead, or clues from lives before the player start

I hate to be, that guy, but the plot was ripped directly from Doctor Who; Season 9 episode 11 "Heaven Sent". Although that's not exactly a bad thing it is definitely NOT an original story.

Robert Poole No, it's not. The purpose is just to create high quality videos using Source Film Maker. The majority of entries are TF2 related for many reasons, but it is not a requirement.

Kamiflage It's a TF2 bias, however. People won't vote for an SFM that isn't TF2 related, so generally these never win. The WoW SFM last year surprised a lot of people when it won.

Other Universes are allowed; and yeah, a TF2 bias does exist, but personally I can accept it, because the saxxies really ARE a tf2 centric contest (in 2011 and part of 2012 it was just a tf2 replay submission contest) so I can understand and accept it. Last year was quite different though; a handful of nominees from non-tf2 universes (dangerous photoshoot, together we stand, the gambler, prosaic, and alley brawl) so it has opened up quite a bit. But aside from winning, I participate in the saxxies because I wanna make cool things viewers will like.

I have a few things to say about this. 1. Although the animations seem odd at times (Head movements look kinda jerky stuff like that) it doesn't take away from the rest of it. 2. I enjoy how it plays alongside the music. 3. It's kinda of similar to the episode "Heaven Sent" from Doctor Who, But I enjoy. 4. I'm going to be honest... I thought this was going to be some form of Undertale related entry. I'm glad that it's not. All in All I really liked this animation. Good original IP. And it has charm. you get a thumbs up. I'd love to see the next part. I also believe that if you worked with some dev team you could make this into a pretty cool game.
