The Republic could have learned some crazy stuff from a super soldier trained from childhood like the Chief. I imagine a lot of the techniques used in training Spartan-IIs would be handy with Clones given the similar lifelong commitment to the task - maybe less useful for the average troopers who may have been too heavily conditioned to really think along the same lines as a Spartan, but I can only imagine how terrifying a group of ARCs or Commandos would be if they were trained under a Spartan. Especially if they had been given similar body augmentations and a set of power armor comparable to MJOLNIR.

Considering the cause he died for, and the context around fives, it will be heartbreaking, but I think echo can come to some solace that he didn't die fighting for the Empire, but rather against it, even when it didn't exist outside of the Emperor.

Why didn't the Forerunners make smaller more mobile versions of the Halo rings that served as short range to liberate solar systems of rich resources from Flood biomass then send in the Forerunner fleet to grab the system? Think about this idea would of been even more effective then the plan the Didact had with mobile military Dyson spheres of Shield worlds because they would be cheaper and more efficient. With thousands of smaller mobile short range rings that could slipspace in dense Flood space then immediately activate the ring cutting huge masses of territory from the Flood and liberating many worlds. The Forerunners should of done this early in the war plus anti artificial intelligence weapons like specially made EMP weapons would of helped against Mendicant Bias and any logic plauge AIs.
