So you're saying we should buy ourselves a cheap but comfortable seafaring ship, capable of transporting people and cargo, instead of buying an unaffordable house in this market and economy, and making some money operating said ship? Sounds like a plan to me!

"Good enough" is the perfect way to describe the Y-Wing and is one of the reasons why it's my favorite starfighter in Star Wars. It's not fancy, it's not amazing, it's just good enough to get the job done. And both legends and canon has it being one of the longest serving starfighters in history. I do argue that it is sexy though in both the Republic and Rebel models. It's not sleek or fancy in design, but it is quite the beautiful and sexy starfighter.

The Empire uses droids to mount the pieces build by prisoners in Narkina on the death star. Issue is likely production bottlenecks and lack of capital for the massive Imperial buildup.

Star Wars always had a demographic issue. You approach it seriously? 'It's just for kids, don't take it seriously'. Say it's just for kids? 'It's actually adult and has a lot of depth'. Comfortably sitting on the fence and shooing anyone off that has criticism with either approach. So Skeleton Crew can be doing the same thing. Get some kids in there to appeal to the families, then have the talking heads go 'it's not for kids actually' to draw in the idiot adults that will jerk off over Star Wars until the day they die.

If the people of the Republic use aurebesh, why are their ships named, usually, for some resemblance to a letter from the Latin alphabet? Are there “in universe” names for these fighters based on their similarity to aurebesh characters?

The Rebel Infantry life sucked. I was 11B Infantry Rifleman USARMY. The empire had more men in the fight. So the Rebels had to have more fight in their men.

Many a rebel leadership has done this. Provoke to government to crack down and in the process to stir up the general population to rise up, Algiers is an example of this.

wtf happened to Star Wars, man. Scrapping the bottom of the barrel is an understatement. No only does this not relate to today’s kids at all, but also, this is a saaaad state of the Star Wars brand

Yes, the apathy, laziness and general indifference of these mall-cops (live and let live attitude) was more effective than having the Gestapo ISB take over and run things with an iron fist. You hardly ever saw the security guards, but the ISB and troopers were up in your face every day. More top-down leadership leading to a disaster.

Back in the old tabletop RPG stormtrooper armour was one of the best common armours you could lay your hands on. If you wanted something better, you'd really have to look into getting it made specially for you. Good stuff.

People who think the quality of content was consistently better in the 80's aren't remembering all of the stuff that didn't work. For every E.T. there's a Mac and Me, or a Howard The Duck.

I wonder if there was ever a fleet that was ONLY the gazanti-class cruisers, albeit in different variants. I mean, take five of them, give three of them some modifications to include a few turb-lasers, and modify the last two to have four or six tie-fighters (interceptors or standard variants), and you get a decent patrol fleet for a few systems! (Edit: The answer later in the video was "yes, that was a thing." and "Yes, it was pretty effective".

The dumbest part of star wars sequels was how they have all this power and technology and even in open head on conflicts they cant win. In the originals the rebellion was a full on army that just lacked firepower but was able to fight large military battles and in the sequels they both had massive armies. In the sequels they have a few hundred foot soldiers and few dozen pilots. Yet they magically fight off 20 warships and take down massive ships the easiest head on way possible it makes no sense the first order ever existed if they are this easy to beat

The kids movies of that period had stakes and risk. The kids were often in some form of danger, which resulted in excitement and thrills. This is Disney. Once the various worried parent watch dog groups and mind policing committees get their teeth into it it'll be a nice, safe, non threateningly bland affair like the rest of the tasteless grey nutrition paste they call entertainment Also, when did it become a crime for a Star Wars movie to be colourful, or at least filmed with decent lighting so we can see what is going on? This is giving me Solo flashbacks...they want 'dark and gritty' but take it way too literally

Thermodynamics says the surface should be uninhabitably hot since: * radiation into space is the only means a planet has availabile to cool itself * thermal radiation into the sky above a city is insufficient to cool said city until the city is molten lava Unless Star Wars has a way to break the laws of thermodynamics via a technology that can delete waste heat, Coruscant is physically impossible.
