thanks for the video, Im never sure which one is origin and which one is destination, still your video helped me a lot, its just the words used, we techs use source and destination as descriptors for the original disk and the clone disk (a copy of the original) , so for the readers in the future let me say the base copies from FRONT to BACK (looking it from a different point of view, it clones FROM the sata port closer to the two usb and card reader TO the sata port closer to the power supply and usb cable port which is supposed to stay disconnected) . you welcome.

The source disk is the one being cloned, the destination disk is one being cloned too. Just saying.

The first thing on screen said "**Make sure the capacity of clone hard disk is LARGER than source hard disk**" the video then shows BOTH disks to be 500GB [at 0:36] WTF?

LOL, you say the blue drive is the source then you use the other drive as the source later on. Also, a clonED drive is the source drive. The clone (no ed) is the target drive. It also does not transfer files. That would impossible without an OS and the other drive first being prepped with a file system. This is a bit by bit copy and both drives are constantly going at the same time. Also that is NOT what the lights mean. Look at the symbols. 1/3. 2/3. 3/3. That's a progress bar. You also need to make sure the USB cable is not connected to anything when you want to clone. Cloning ONLY works while in stand alone mode. You should take this video down and fix it. Everything about it is wrong.

thank you for clarifying it's a bit for bit copy! my biggest concern is whether or not different manufacturers make 6TB drives that may differ by a few bits or bytes. I'll know when I get my 2nd drive next week!

@@udance4ever That can be a problem. I've tried to restore drives that were, lets say, 4TB to a new 4TB drive and it would refuse because there wasn't enough room. Some companies make a 4,000,000,000,000 (TB) drive while other make a 4,398,046,511,104 (TB) drive.

How long should the cloning take? I have 1TB hard drive in to 1TB SSD been on for hours no sign of life in the second blink just stuck on the first light. Any help welcomed

I'm glad I'm not the only one dealing with this issue. I just bought a Fideco YPZ220C docking station and I'm doing a offline clone from a 1TB HDD to a 2TB SSD and it's been going for a while constantly blinking on the second light during the cloning which has been going on since Thursday afternoon and stuck on the first light which is solid. Is it suppose to be like that or is it possibly an issue? I appreciate any help or advice.

@@mikenco I had to end up stopping the clone process. When I checked the hard drives on my laptop it looked like everything moved over. I think my old HDD hard drive was defective and it needed to be replaced. The only thing that sucked was trying to move the extra space from the SSD and merging it with the old drive and that didn't work because it was less space than the new so I had to do a clean slate and reinstall Windows 10. At least the SSD drive is fast when loading up.
