HELP FOR SCALING! Take your height in inches. Ex: I am 5ft 8in -> 68 inches tall Divide your height by his height in inches(72in). Ex: 68/72. The percentage you get should be the the scale you print it by. Ex: I got 94.44%, so I will print the templates at a scale of 95%. NOTE: This is a rough estimate you can do to get you started. You may still have to modify some parts. *Thank you Ryzer for your amazing, simple templates! Already made the helmet, time to get started on the armor....

The only things I'll have to work on are the shoulder guards, the abdomen, and of course the helmet. I'll link a rough 2D image of the phase 1 helmet design soon. In my opinion if you want to make your cod peace stay on you could make the belt separate and then clip the cod peace to the belt and what I have done for the belt is use an old belt and attach foam to it so it’s real Tight
@ryzer_red
@ryzer_red 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I admit if I make another clone, then I will change the belt area to make it easier to put on. Thanks for the tip!

So I can see you respond to mostly everyone but is there or can you make a template for the bicep straps
@ryzer_red
@ryzer_red 4 жыл бұрын
The straps are really just an elastic circle that goes around your neck and 2 strips of elastic that go on opposite sides down your arm. If you want it easier to put on, you can cut the back of the neck strap and put velcro in place, but you don't have to.

Hi! So I’m new to cosplaying a bit and I wanna make my own armor but I printed out the template (thank you so much for making it free lol) but I’m having a hard time figuring out how to size it , do you know how I could figure out to size it? Like with a measuring tape cuz doing the height scaling is a bit difficult on my end, Just figured I ask for help lol cuz materials are kinda expensive for me asf and I don’t wanna mess up

I apologize for asking so many questions, but which thickness of foam is used for which pieces?
@ryzer_red
@ryzer_red 4 жыл бұрын
It's all good. For 90% of the suit I used that CAP Barbell Roll Up Foam mat that I linked in the description. It's about 7mm thick. Here's the parts that were different sizes: *The hand plates are 5mm craft foam. *The shoe ankle guards are the same 5mm foam and the strip of foam on the shoe is 2mm thick. *The gray little circles and rectangles on the back armor are 5mm foam. *The buttons on the pauldron are 2mm *The compad is 5mm *The helmet fin is 2mm in the middle and 5mm on the edges. And the air filter circles on the front are 5mm with a small 2mm circle in the middle. I think that's about it, let me know if there's a specific piece you need.

How do you make your seams so clean?
@ryzer_red
@ryzer_red 4 жыл бұрын
I used this big foam mat instead of little sheets of foam so I had fewer pieces to cut out and less pieces to glue together. Also, I used contact cement to glue the pieces together and it helps to hide seams much better than hot glue. :) You can also tape the templates together in areas where there shouldn't be a seam line before you cut it out on foam. www.amazon.com/CAP-Barbell-Roll-Antimicrobial-Foam/dp/B00M1S9Q04

What were the measurements for the helmet
@ryzer_red
@ryzer_red 4 жыл бұрын
I kept the measurements for mine the same as it is when you open the file in pepakura. I would recommend scaling it up a little as it is a pretty tight fit. You'll also want to trim some of the bottom ring of the helmet so you can fit your head into it anyway. There is a measurement tool in pepakura too if you want a better idea of how wide you need to make it.

Ryzer so I have another quick question, I’m working on the chest and I’m not quite sure how to attach the pec plates to the part that goes underneath them. Do you glue them edge to edge or one on top of the other?
@ryzer_red
@ryzer_red 4 жыл бұрын
@@toddkuznitz3629 I glued them edge to edge with contact cement and secured it with hot glue. Although, you could add a little extra foam to the "under" pec piece and that way you could just glue to them one on top of the other. I'd recommend that actually.
