Diclor is ph neutral which won’t move your ph one way or the other but it is stabilized so it can run up your cynaric acid level especially if using triclor tablets because there also stabilized then you run into chlorine lock

This D shock killed the green in my pool! The cal wouldn't work! The clorox shock plus is the best 🎉

What is the cable for over your pool? Do you have a special cover that goes over this?
@tomshomefinds2 ай бұрын
Our pool is an "oval" pool, but it doesn't have the big braces on the side, instead it's held up with these two big poles that have a tension wire between them. So without that wire holding the poles straight the sides would collapse outwards from the weight of the water. It's about 7 years old and holding up well. We have a volleyball net for the wire, but that's about it 🙂

@@tomshomefindsthat makes sense. Thanks for the reply. We are trying to get our alkaline levels up and hope this Clorox product will help us. This is our first year to use salt water system and the green keeps appearing in the more shady side of the pool

Cool. A quick tip we learned is that baking soda (arm and hammer works fine) is your friend when it comes to raising pH and alkaline levels. Once those levels are good a shock packet will work better and the whole pool tends to stay cleaner longer.

I thought the filter is supposed to be off when you add the shock??
@tomshomefinds Жыл бұрын
Actually most pool experts recommend keeping your filter ON when you add shock so that it more evenly distributes around your pool. That flow of water will also prevent your shock chemicals from settling on the floor of your pool which could damage the vinyl liner. Just don't pour it directly into your filter intake while it's running (you don't want the chemicals to be instantly pulled into the filter. I spread the chemicals around the edges of my pool and lets the water flow mix those chemicals in the pool.

How often do you put it in? Is it only when you see numbers are off, etc. and not weekly?
@tomshomefinds Жыл бұрын
I have learned that my pool numbers are ALWAYS off after a week 🙂 This year I've gotten into the habit of putting baking soda in on Wednesday and then usually shocking the pool with one packet of the 4-in-1 or 6-in-1 stuff on Saturday morning after testing the water. We haven't used our pool much (been a cool summer for us) but it has rained regularly, which can throw off your pool's chemical balance.

@@tomshomefinds Thanks for the helpful info!! We have not been able to use the pool much, either. It has been very cool. Have a great day!

@tomshomefinds so you don't predissolve cause alot of people worry about some of the small granular stuff sitting at the bottom and eating away at the pool liner
@tomshomefinds Жыл бұрын
@@heatherbop2946 Huh, I didn't even know that was a concern. I kind of figure as long as I add my chemicals while the pump is running that the flow of water should be enough to help it dissolve. I've actually never seen this stuff settle at the bottom of the pool so it must dissolve pretty quickly. My pool is about 48 inches deep if that matters.

Where did you get your pool?

Local pool place. They're called "At Home Recreation".... they sell the pool and parts, then they have a list of recommended contractors for actually setting it up.

@@robbailes4387Cyanuric acid. Usually sold as "stabilizer" but that's basically what you want. Clorox Stabilizer is 100% CYA.
