Close call with 3 Ford Broncos running Behind the Rocks on High Dive

Guys/ Gals this is raw in-edited no fancy-Spancy story telling trail footage. Sometimes tbh i just have desire to capture in a way that’s cinematic vs me just having fun with what i love doing most. So hopefully you all enjoy just watching as if you were out there with us on this trail. Behind the Rocks in Moab Utah has several challenging spots mainly one called the “High Dive” things definitely got interesting as we took a stock Ford Bronco Badlands down it…..😬

Jesus. These new Broncos are incredibly capable right out of the box. A friend purchased one and immediately put it through its paces. Funny comment at the end of the day: “Boy can I save a lot of money with this thing. @@noah22261 I went to NV Off Redeo 10/7/21 - took another foreign Navy SEAL with me. He's got a monster jeep. Our guide Anthony, I think, was excellent as well. If course NV nothing like MOAB. I'm a Baja mode lover. My buddy completely redid his jeep after that day. I changed my order from BD to BL, 2dr. Now my bud can't wait for mine to get to me! LOLOLOL! I've got 9 parts waiting for it! Good them: don't wash it, don't spray any underside protection on it, don't fit anything, don't take any plastic off anything, leave the stickers there, and don't drill/mount a front license plate bracket in the front. Just do the PDI & park it! LOLOLOL- exactly what they did. And I paid exactly what my signed order had on the bottom line. My sales lady: Twee Hayes @ Ken Grody Ford in Carlsbad, CA was AWESOME.

I've installed Bronco Tailgate Table, JBL Soundbar, hood struts (shocks), Bronco script on fenders - removed BL bagdes, installed Oracle LED brake light inside spare tire. Rigid LED Pod Lights on cowl - wired to Aux switches. Installed IAG Steps, Rokblokz mud flaps in front. Researching rooftop tents, rear seat delete kit, external storage racks.

Great driving, spotting, etc. Maybe keep the doggies out of the vehicle when you're navigating the dangerous stuff. I'm sure they're frightened and stressed when you're teetering at 41 degrees. Great job team! One of the better offroad videos. I really liked the technical rock crawling, the fact that the video was clean and not saturated with music, really nice hearing the tires on the rocks (not the roaring JL fan motor though). @@ChaseGentry truthfully every time I'm out with Broncos and Toyota and we are all similar built. Our gladiator puts them to shame. And just to see of its driver. I even let my inexperienced wife against them. And she kicks butt every time. In fact she is in a trail militia KZbin. There was some heavy editing for the Toyota guys in that video. We are the white gladiator loaded up. And a friends Bronco electronics blew up. He is a stock Bronco. Ford charged him 2500 to replace it. Not a very good warranty. 😕. I'm just a simple camping guy who like to have a rig go to perfect spots and get me home. I love all types of 4x4s.

Bronco off rodeo headquarters, I wanted to take a few minutes and address my adventure on June 1 at the bronco off rodeo location in New Hampshire. My process of purchasing and ordering my Bronco has been so incredibly positive from the help that I received from the general manager David Toomey of the Ford store at Empire Ford to my sales person Hal Abrahamson. They were so great that I brought my cousin to the dealership and she purchased a Expedition. I was even invited to attend the bronco odf rodeo in New Hampshire as a guest event that Dave Toomey and Empire Ford was sponsoring sometime in the middle of June, but due to the following information that I will reveal my wife and I attended on our own. First and foremost this adventure was planned out far in advance and much planning had to go into this one day trip for us from Long Island New York. My wife Marion was my guest. Marion had a complete life-saving liver transplant several months back brought on from a bad reaction to a antibiotic. As you can imagine after having such an incredibly major transplant surgery the recovery has been long, hard, painful and continues to be such. You can’t imagine the emotions and the emotional state of mental health that you’re in after you’ve gone through such an incredible surgery, plus the debilitation of you physically. Marion has not been out of the house much nor has she been experiencing life as we knew it prior to her transplant. We haven’t had any fun over the last few months. This Bronco adventure took place on the eighth month anniversary of her transplant and she was so looking forward to it because this was going to give her an opportunity to have fun and really really feel alive again. I had several conversations previous to arrival over the previous months in reference to what Marion might experience, how rough the ride might be how clean the facilities that we were going to stay at we’re at the steel hill resort, special dietary needs and special arrangements so that Marion could be driven up to the hilltop rather than take a ski lift. Every and all special requests and arrangements were actually made and carried out completely without exception by your team at bronco off rodeo in New Hampshire. During the approximately 10 hours that we spent that day of the approximate eight hours of driving, I’d say that my wife did 7 1/2 of the hours driving she and had so much fun. This is important… For the first time in 8 months she smiled, laughed and had fun. She was so happy during the day it was a blessing to us. As someone that has purchased and gone through over 93 new vehicles since 1977 and been too many automotive events, I can tell you quite honestly that this was the most rewarding fun exciting and educational event of any automotive event that I’ve ever attended. Now to your staff. Despite the fact that June 1 was an extremely rainy day with heavy weather at times our experience was not dampened in any way shape or form by becoming wet. Tyler Skinner the guest service supervisor was so accommodating to Marion. I can’t begin to tell you, because of Marions liver transplant we had very special needs for food and accommodations etc and Tyler just went out of her way to do everything that we needed, including running downstairs and using the microwave to warm up some of Marion’s food that we had kept cold and frozen with dry ice. Taylor was compassionate to Marion understanding of her needs and went out of her way to make Marion feel comfortable, secure, safe and included in everything that was going on while we were at home base. She wasn’t left out of anything! Now about our special Tour Guide, Hank Hoover. As someone that had a business employing 185 people for over 25 years I can tell you that Hank is somebody that I would have loved to have had as one of my employees. Thank you Hank. …. Hank gave us a brief history on himself, Ford, the Ford bronco and then educated us on safety and all the special features of the bronco itself. Despite the rain and Hank getting twice as wet as anybody else that was there he took his time to explain every feature and how to go about going out on the trail safely… the demonstration trail was helpful to us all and gave us an idea of what we would see during the following hours that we would be spending on the trails and rocks. I had spoken to Hank earlier in the morning and let him know about Marion special needs. Hank arranged for us to have one of the Broncos that did not have the Sasquatch package so that it would be easier for Marion to get in and out of the vehicle, as the base Badlands on 33‘s was less of a climb than the other Broncos there that had 35 inch tires. He gave Marion very special attention during the day. He continued to check on Marion‘s progress, her comfort and to make sure she was safe consistently through the day ! He was caring. He let us know what was coming up on the trail ahead of time so we knew what to expect and he made it easy for any bathroom breaks that we needed for Marion and accommodated her as if he was looking out for his own family member. Besides the fact of his fun personality and his humanity, giving Marion some special attention, he was an extremely nice man, calm and an unbelievably knowledgeable guide concerning the course, the features of the vehicle, and making sure that we were all extremely safe. I just wanted to take a few moments to write this brief letter so that you would be able to acknowledge and thank Hank Hoover and Tyler Skinner for us. What a fantastic time we had and how much we appreciated how Tyler and Hank went out of their way to make sure that we had the most marvelous time, learned everything we could and made sure that we were safe and secure. From the bottom of my heart I wanted to thank everyone ….thank you all so very much Ronald Steiger and Marion Steiger. PS I am a Social Media influencer with over 20,000 followers with different groups and have just started a Bronco Group on Facebook and have over 11OO followers on it already!

Any idea what PSI they were running in their tires? They seem pretty highly inflated for that kind of obstacle (from my completely untrained 100% novice perspective). Would airing down more have helped make that gatekeeper a little easier?

We were all at 20-25 psi. 100% yes airing down to about 16-18 would be ideal however 16psi is risky to pop a bead with beadlock wheels. We also were all over Moab that day so 20psi we don’t air up for the whole day keeping speeds at 60 mph back and forth

Even from the perspective of a 55-year offroad vet with 20 years in the tire business, I could hear that their tires were over inflated. Now the old Jeep I drove is lighter, but I would run 4-5 psi on trails near Moab when I lived in the area. Never had a bead come off, ever.

Visibility is good actually. Steering components are fine if left stock. If you go bigger tire/ lift like wrangler you’ll need to beef up.

The Wildtrak (I have one also) seemed more concise than the Badlands, however it does not have the sway bar disconnect. Did you have any issues because of that? From the video it looks like the Badlands struggled a bit more...though it could also be driver experience.

I am amazed at how bad some of these drivers are, sorry but come on they have no idea how to pick a line, nor understand momentum or the trucks positives nor negatives. Mind you these people are not as bad as some I have been watching today, I am no expert but I could drive circles around most of these people, unless they are trying to make it look harder than it is. Try Steel Bender in Moab.... I drive a stock truck!

Man, these people who bought guitars and joined the music workshop to learn to play really suck compared us older more experience musicians. Meh, n00bs. Who wants more people enjoying OUR hobby. We are so much better.

Everyone has to start somewhere, even you were a noob before. They are our there learning and some day might drive circles around you. The thing that really makes me want to scream is when the spotters don't know what they are doing, especially if they are vets.
