@John Dillermand I third on that, once you start tossing mods into the mix it becomes much more difficult to compare vehicles because you stop comparing how the vehicle was built and instead start comparing how the owner modded it. I actually kind of wish TFL would have gotten a Non-Squatch Bronco because to me the Squatch isnt the "Rubicon" of the Broncos, the Badlands is. The Squatch package is more like an add on on top of the "Rubicon" level Badlands that jeep answered with the Xtreme Recon so comparing a Squatch Bronco to a Rubicon Wrangler isn't fair unless the Rubi has the Recon package.

@John Dillermand I agree that absolutely has its place but I do value comparisons where at least all the vehicles are running the same or very similar tires offroad. Tires just make such a huge difference

Before I was born my parents had to stay at the Ronald McDonald House near Milwaukee for over a year as my brother tried to battle cancer. My parents were struggling financially at the time and I remember hearing so much about how much it helped. Growing up I heard a lot about this and see the way that my Mom throws money at it now that things have improved for them whenever she has a chance. As much as your videos trigger me with my lack of a Bronco, and now the Gladiator I ordered in place of it (as the Gladiator plant shuts down) I'm reminded that things could be much worse. Thanks!

The Bronco appears pretty impressive, the Wangler is what it is and did nothing I wouldn't expect it to. The Landrover is interesting though. From what I've seen the main issue with it is the lack of room for bigger tyres and smaller wheels for "proper" off roading. The Defender was never designed to rock crawl. Its target market was people who want to pull a horsebox, boat or large caravan/trailer. The reason you can't fit 16 inch wheels on one is because the brakes are too big. It's brakes are that big because it has twice the towing and payload capacity of the Bronco. They are just meant for different roles. They are all "lifestyle" vehicles but there are many different lifestyles.

The air suspension on the defender makes it look like it’s on “pogo sticks”. The lack of suspension articulation in the defender doesn’t inspire confidence over uneven terrain. The bronco with a small lift and 37’s would be even more impressive.

I love and welcome them all: The Bronco, Defender and the Jeep are all amazingly capable off road vehicles! This was such a good adventure to watch. The Defender looked like it was gaining the traction it needed to make the V Notch climb but could have used some more weight on the front to keep it balanced. A little downward force on the front on the vehicle would have stabilized it enough to make it up. I have seen people holding or strapping down vehicles in extreme situations to keep them from rolling or flipping, especially 2 door jeeps on a steep rock drop off descent. The Jeep is a tried and true offroad champion, the Bronco is an amazing new offroader of equal capability, and the new Defender is rig that can hang with the best off road while still providing on road performance and refinement. Out of curiosity I wonder how the Mercedes G550 4x4 Squared with the right tires would do on this trail. Having a diversity of vehicles keeps things fun and interesting.

That Bronco is truly impressive rock crawling even with the compromises. That rear control arm causing problems was definitely done like that for high speed stability when desert running. 450/510 numbers are with the hybrid I believe. Too lazy to go check it out, so I’ll hope I’m right

@@kaseyod113 I don't think they make a hybrid F150 Raptor. But the Raptor engine has 450/510 atlest according to the article I referenced. Are they going to be making a hybrid Raptor? Now you have me wondering.

@@freedomisntfree_44 it would sound better for sure but it has less torque and HP than the twin turbo V6 in the Raptor. And it's heavier than the twin turbo v6. For an off road vehicle 500 hp and 500 torque is more than enough and you can get that with just a tune on the Raptor engine

The Defender is still bad. The Jeep is now in its own category and isn't really a fair comparison anymore with the massive tires and extensive other mods. The Bronco is impressing me more and more.

That Jeep was just there to supervise the children, lmao. That was a walk in the park for that Wrangler with those tires. The Defender held its own for having IS front and rear. I want to get a Bronco next year though, looks so nice. I would get the soft top though...

The highly modified Jeep is really impressive. One issue, I'll say right now I don't know U.S. vehicle regulations, but in Europe all the Jeeps in this video are not road legal. Therefore cannot be used on public trails, only private land. Yet we have the new Suzuki Jimny & enduro bikes are road legal !

@@russcattell955i Pretty much anything is road legal here as long as the basic safety features are present like headlights, tail lights, horn, bumpers, and some other stuff...

I took delivery of my 2022 Badlands Sasquatch and have been just as impressed with its off-road performance. To add to that, it's a terrific daily driver. All parts are covered by warranty, I paid no one for any other work, and only need to go back to Ford and Ford alone if there are any issues. Lastly, let's not forget that this was not a fair fight (for the Bronco).

The Defender is not marketed as a serious off roader but it still amazing with these 35s.

That’s a sweet and fun trail. I have some great memories there from back in the day with my TJ. All three vehicles did well. I’ve liked Jeep’s for 20 years but the Bronco looks like a very impressive rig. I think the Defender showed it’s not just a mall crawler but I wouldn’t say it was in its element either.
