Your use of elbows should be as creative as your use of hand strikes. Don’t limit your application to just slashing elbows. In this short video we explain several alternative applications of this excellent short range tool.

This fellow has excellent power. Thanks for the teaching and EXPLANATIONS. Live Long. In VoTuYa which is the Vietnamese version of Must Thai, regarding the "tomahawk" elbow, I was taught to step with the corresponding foot as you throw that elbow...so LEFT TOMAHAWK, STEP into it with LEFT FOOT at the same time to add body weight. Excellent Video.

Chuck Callaway's Elbow Boxing, derived from prison system fighting, is also worth looking at in this context. Thank you for this

The spearing elbow can easily crack the sternum, so be very careful in training. Happened to me and we were not going full out.

Personally I don't agree with the relaxed hand. I like to tense up every muscle in my arm to make it more rigid and therefore get more impact out of it. Other than that I agree with every part of this clip. And as far as the relaxed hand goes, it's a personal preference. Some of my students prefer it fully tensed, some keep it relaxed. Both seem to work like a charm 👍

My muay thai coach told me for elbows, you relax your hand because when someone makes a fist, it moves your muscles out and provides a cushion around you elbow which results in less damage to the target. I guess that would only be true if you don't hit right on the elbow sweet spot which can happen when in a real fight.

You talk to mma fanboys about realworld combatives and they say those who teach can't fight (as there's no televised evidence of said person sport fighting). 🤦♂️ McCann, Lee Morrison, Geoff Thompson would disagree. Also say that to their faces and see for yourself
