Certainly a vast improvement over the "D" couplers. Thank you Iain. David.

Your welcome David. Well worth trying out, i'm sure something from the range would fit USA / Canadian coaches as well.

I model HO European. The oldest model coaches that I have which have factory fitted close coupling date from 1973. The technology has been around for some time. For British modelers some Hornby and Bachman coaches with NEM coupler boxes already have close coupling mechanisms fitted. But they don't come with close couplers except in the case of some Bachmans the solid drawbar. I have 3 Hornby Pullman coaches from an Orient Express set bought about 2010. They have NEM boxes and close coupling mechanism. I have tried couplers from Roco and Fleischman on them but they didn't work too well. Kadees work but leave some gap when they are in motion. Recently I tried Marklin couplers. They look quite like traditional mousetrap types and will actually couple up to those. The Marklin couplers work extremely well on the Hornby coaches.

Hi that does look superb, such a difference to standard and even kadee. I will certainly be trying some out. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Cheers Paul

Your welcome Paul. I'm going to try these out with Kadees as well know you mention it. Kind regards.

Looks good although the majority of my coaching stock is older than the modern removable NEM couplers. Should consider some new coaches but they're usually £30 each 😮

Keen-Systems do close coupling kits to fit the older coaching stock as well, covering the likes of Lima, Hornby, Mainline, Airfix, Dapol, Joeuf, Southern Pride, Hornby Dublo/Wrenn, Tri-Ang & Replica Railways. Well worth checking out their site.

Great stuff, keep me posted on how you get on.

Easy to fit and use on the Bachmann MK1 & 2s. I bought them so I could get the NEM pocket at the right height as I use Kadees.

Deffo rolling this out across the fleet on my other coaches. Like the idea of using Kadee's on them :-)

I want to do the same

Have you tried the KaaDee couplers? I have all my wagons connected up with these, and personally, think there wonderful.

I also use the Kadee couplings as well on some of the fleet.

Great retro fit kit. I'm going to roll out fitting these on more of my rolling stock.
@kirktonroadjunction1936 жыл бұрын
They look so much better close coupled. I'm surprised the likes of Bachmann and Hornby haven't offered something like this yet.

Both Bachmann & Hornby have sort of in some form or another. Beauty of this Keens System that it'll fit most makes & ages of OO scale coaches. Something i'll be rolling out across my coaching fleet now.

So whats the tightest turn these modded coaches can take?
@railandmodel6 жыл бұрын
Full details on Keen Systems Close Couplings website (Link below in the video description). Tightest curve on the layout which is in the return loop on the lower level, is just a wee bit larger than Hornby 2nd radius. Goes round that fine.

Great Video Yan,, but a quick correction please, David (Cottesmore) is not the group founder as stated in description. It was initially my idea which was then created in collaboration with all the current group admins. We as a team are all the group founders.

What's the network KZbin map?
@railandmodel6 жыл бұрын
A newly formed group of uk model railway youtube channels. Each station on the map is a group members youtube channel/layout. Similar to the Euro Alliance KZbin Rail group that's been running for many years on KZbin. It's like one big model railway involving all the group members layouts. So you film a train running on the layout, another member will film the same train on their layout & so on. So like sending one of our trains across the country via the group members layouts. facebook.com/groups/370652216741501/about/

Had this a while David, just hadn't got run to editing & uploading it, lol. Will be rolling it out across the coaching fleet now. Certainly a vast improvement over the massive gap between coaches.
