@bonbon-gl8qo3 жыл бұрын
Actually Tiffany owns that particular painting & I don’t know if Tiffany’s is a “white supremest company, as you stated, but it’s not uncommon That there are white racist who may be able to afford & own a real Basquiat. Art on this level appreciates in value, so you will get a collector to purchase popular artist work, & it doesn’t matter if the collector is racist towards the artist group or culture.

Some people have already brought up issues similar to what I'm going to say, but why is it that a person like Jaz Z, a black man with the the status and success that he has, gets criticized for bringing attention to another great artist of color, when meanwhile rappers like Kanye and Drake don't get any criticism for their use of artist who are white or non black? That's BS! Kanye has worked with non black contemporary artists alot over the years, but yet I've never heard anyone say anything wrong with that at all! There are enough black contemporary artists out here who are very good and have created a name for themselves in the art world, but I've never seen Kanye even mention any of them ever! Not only is Kanye's new album cover based off of art from a white female artist by the name of Louis Bourgeois, but his previous albums were also from non black artists who's names are George Condo, Takashi Murakami and he has also worked extensively with James Turrell, another white contemporary artist! I have never seen Kanye west show support for any other black contemporary artist! Drake's new album cover, also a white contemporary artist by the name of Damien Hirst! As a black artist and painter, this infuriates me!! Where's the criticism about this?!!
