Close Gaps Not Working on Premiere Pro

*EDIT* You DON'T actually have to delete the audio!!
Hey guys - here's how to quickly troubleshoot the issue of the 'close gaps' function not working in premiere pro. It's not broken - you just have to remove other audio and visuals. This tutorial shows you the problem and the fix.
This issue is SUPER common for vloggers and editors who like to use a lot of jump cuts.

Thanks , that works. Although i discovered, that you don't always have to delete the audio, Basically the software keeps Audio-Video in sync, even if you don't want it. So Just lock the Audio Channel. The Lock Symbol given before A1/A2/A3 ,etc. With that the software will understand that this file is not a part of the current edit. But still thanks, your Video gave this insight.

OH perfect! It's weird, I'm the type of person who needs everything to be clean - so if I don't need it I want to delete it. I never leave tabs open on my browser haha. But good to know because sometimes you want that audio back!

Great tip and works a charm instead od delating I just cut (Ctrl/cmd+X) and then paste teh audio back in (Ctrl/cmd+V)

this is the info i needed when my ripple delete stopped working. thanks. I had no idea it had something to do with the audio track. like a few commentors have already said, i just locked the track instead of making a new sequence and it worked well. Thanks for this upload. its a simple solution for such a frustrating problem.

This was the best video I've seen when I come across problems in Premiere. I would love to see more videos like this! So I had another issue after taking out the audio & rendering the video file. My next video to edit (to chop into the 1st video) wasn't playing, so I created a new sequence and it's viewable to edit in the new sequence. What's the difference between sequences and projects? I hope it saves the edit just the same!
