Simple, natural rhythms - nothing like modern life with its darkness, vitriol and disconnect from nature. As a species, we are doomed if we cannot find space for nature on its terms. Patagonia is authentic, lets try not to doubt their sincerity. #noplanetb

Can anyone tell me what is the backtracking music from around 2min to 2:45min mark? It's lovely. Perhaps someone else's Shazam might work? I'm gagging to hear more of this music (composer), and find out if it's a hammer dulcimer used.. ... Also, a media studies style analysis (from an inexpert autodidact): this human story "Advert" approach is beautiful & constructive, and an example of (what I call) "The Feeling of Function in Context". It is the kind of "advertising/ promotion" approach I wish more companies would use. So much advertising is focused on "the manipulative claim to cause a feeling of perfection", (asserting to resolve all your problems), or "Provocation Manipulation" (inducing a biochemical high that disables reason), and leaving out the honest function of their product completely, (nor the context of human experience). I feel this is a paradigm that has been a driving force behind the inculcation of the fact free culture of today. I hope more companies would dare to focus on the human story, and leaving open to the viewer to consider the feeling of function. This might reflect better the humanist ideal of problem solving as the focus of a business, instead of the consumer as a cow to be milked for profit by provocateur methods. (deep thots, knee-deep; or, this cold medicine has a contemplative high).

well. not everyone lives with mountains all around with lots of powder. Some people grow up in cities or flat country with ice and or a powder day that means 1cm snow. all these videos you sponsor just make all of us want to travel beacuse we cannot look in our backyard. And it is hard to leave family and relatives for a life in snowy parts every winter. Japan, canada, u.s. and the alps. It looks so down to earth and beatiful but i think you just make people fly and travel more with all these videos you sponsor. It's sad that Patagonia the "greenest" company invites people to that kind of lifestyle. The whole enviromental skiing industry is a joke.
@vyas5555 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more. May be we should take inspiration from this and be creative as to what can be done in our own backyard. I'm tired of chasing too.....
@erikliedtke91895 жыл бұрын
yea lets stop producing awesome content videos because it might inspire some people to travel. wtf is wrong with people..
@patagonia5 жыл бұрын
We totally see where you are coming from but our intent on our films is to either educate others on important environmental issues or inspire others to get outside more. It doesn't have to be backcountry skiing or snowboarding. Look in your own backyard to see if there are any awesome opportunities to get outside.
@tams8055 жыл бұрын
That's how life is. People in the countryside don't have many of the amenities that urban dwellers do. They have to travel for them. No one is saying you have to travel far often, or even at all. "And it is hard to leave family and relatives for a life in snowy parts every winter." - If just a small trip is too much emotionally for you because you'll miss your family... well that's your problem.
@martinskugga94065 жыл бұрын
@@patagonia No you dont know where i'm coming from. I'm not talking about myself. I said some people. But i do travel for snow. mostly scandinavia where i'm from. The thing is that i see this lifestyles everywhere. The people you and the rest of the industry "inspired". People dont see a movie like that and get inspired to check out ants or birds in their backyard. They want to ride that same powder. Or do some other sports you have videos about. I follow some of your athletes on instagram. Mostly snowboarders since im in to that. And they fly around the globe ALOT. This is not inspiring for me to check out my own backyard. Off course me and the rest want to snowboard all these places. and not only in the winter. off course. summertime you need to go to chile or nz also. The whole world talk about not flying for the enviromental cause. But thats all some of your athletes do.
