CLOSE UP "Air Force Two" - Boeing C-32 USAF Takeoff

Commonly refered to as "Air Force Two", this modified B-757 (C-32) is the vice presidents way of flying. Air Force One was preparing to pick up President Obama and the delegation after the COP21 in Paris, as this one came right behind.
The COP21 was the biggest ever meeting of world leaders, so as always the pace and security was at the top. When the vice president is not on board this plane, the callsign is simply "SAM" (special air mission) and the assigned mission number.

If the USAF were to replace this what would the logical Choice be? *If B737 MAX 10 was chosen for C-32 B757 replacement it will be classified as a C-40C or C-40D versions military designation for B737*

Its ONLY Air Force 2 IF the Vice President is on board. Otherwise, its SAM (special air mission) and the assigned mission number.

VP would have been on Air Force One if he had been traveling with the President. The other aircraft are special air mission (SAM) designated flights for other staff. Please update your description.

No they never place the president and VP, Speaker of house, or president pro temp on the same plane or other combination. They Evan don't want the current president and former president on the same plane as well

So was Obama aboard? If not call sign would be SAM 28000 or 29000 depending on the A/C serial. # not AF One, yes if Biden was aboard the VC32(Boeing 757) then it would be refered to as AF, TWO, the text leads me to believe Obama was not yet on board his A/C

Had one of these 2 engine, "United States of America" labeled planes, land at Medford Oregon today. He did 2 "Touch 'n Goes" before landing for real. I was on the wrong side of the runway for getting any photo's. I was looking into the Sun. Oh well. It was still nice to see my Tax Dollars at work.

Its actually SAM 90015 which would have been carrying white house staff and press, the VP did not make this trip. There are 4 C-32s in the VIP fleet but no single aircraft is reserved for the VP, there are all use randomly for senior cabinet level officials and the VP.

Trump is flying C-32s these days. I saw him arrive in Huntsville, Alabama this afternoon in a C-32 like this one.

The President sometimes uses C-32, C-40 or C-37 on short flights into airports with shorter runways

Last weekend, an Air Force C32 (757) like this was used as Air Force One when President Biden was flown on a short trip to Delaware. Trump also used these planes on trips where destination airports weren't able to support the size or weight of a VC25 (747) The US government SAM or Special Airlift Mission fleet consists of several aircraft models any which can be selected for flying the president or vice president. Air Force One is always the call sign for the president, Air Force Two for the VP and SAM + tail number for all other missions regardless of type of airplane used. For example, the VC25 that normally flew Obama as Air Force One when he was president, was called SAM + tail number when delivering him and family to California after leaving the white house when his term ended. The most poignant example of this was when JFK was assassinated. SAM 2600, a KC135 (707) was known as Air Force One when flying the Kennedys to Dallas. It remained as Air Force One on it's return flight with JFK's body but not because of JFK, because the new president LBJ was also on that flight.. Had president Johnson not accompanied Kennedys body back to DC, it would have been called SAM 2600.
