Some giant beings took a drop of outer space and put it into a slide (that's why the universe is relatively flat) and they watch us going about our self-important lives, thinking we run things. The universe expanding is really them pressing on the enormous slides that we fit between. It's happening on such an enormous scale that we perceive it as universal expansion. To them, at their scale, it's only a few of their seconds passing by, watching the drop of "water"/space expand and then get placed under their microscope.

Wait. This is something I've always wondered. I always thought that microscopic life was almost predetermined by its chemical composition. Every movement and action it takes is mechanical without any kind of thought or reason behind it. Because there is no way that a cell has any kind of nervous system right? How did the predator cell know to go and collect all of that shit that came out of the other cell? It looked like it knew what it was doing, searching for something. Like there was something in control rather than a set of code that it follows. Please I need an answer.
